hey gang. i'm trying to get my blog going for my site to help SEO. one issue i have is with external links. when i add links to my posts, they always get prepended with the blogs url.

for example if i want to link thefastlanetomillions.com the actual link in my post is:

i'm new to wordpress but not html and computer programming. i can't seem to find the feature which will turn this off.

anybody have any info for me?

thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if this is what you are asking, but you can use this format. It substitutes the URL for anything you want. You can even embed links with this.

Write a sentence then embed whatever you want to say and continue your paragraph.

Note: it doesn't work here because this is a Vbulletin CMS, but should work fine in WP.

are you using a link cloaking plugin. That would be my guess from what you are showing. If so, turn it off.

When you create links you are forgetting to put "http://" in front of them.

copy and paste the entire URL from the address bar of your browser and it will work.

according to the admin, there's no pluggins that are activated. if someone would like to take a closer look, i can send them the login info via PM
