I am Valentijn, from the Netherlands. My career has been in financial markets and services: education international business/business administration (BSC/MA) and investment management (CFA), and building services for clients who trade markets and want to grow their wealth.
That made The Millionaire Fastlane and Unscripted uncomfortable reading. In MJ's terms, most of my industry is the Slowlane. I do not think he is wrong about that.
What stayed with me was not a formula but something simpler: if you choose nothing, someone else will choose for you. That describes a large part of the last decade and I really want to change this.
Where I am now: no business yet. I have read Fastlane and Unscripted . Choose Hard, Live Easy is on my desk, still unopened — choosing hard apparently starts tomorrow. I am looking for a real problem to solve and build a business around, rather than an idea I happen to like the sound of.
What I hope to get here: to learn from people who have done it, and to be corrected when my reasoning is weak.
What I can offer: I know investment management, financial markets, and how they are run and products are built and sold in it. If a finance question comes up in a thread and I can add something useful, I will.
