Don't let the haters ruin your fun.

They didn't ruin the weekend ... as Ryan mentioned above, glass is replaceable. The fun, excitement, and the memories of the weekend are priceless. Yes I was upset for about 20 minutes then the perspective of the moment hit me ... it could have been worse. (Tires slashed, front window smashed, side panel bashed in!)

Mj. What if you caught the guy red handed?

Would you have taken him to court so that he can learn his lesson?

That would not have been good. Kenric is packing heat and Mike is an MMA guy. We all were saying "good thing we didn't see him!" because then we might have ended up in jail with much worse consequences.

I'm sure karma will take care of him; I can't imagine how much his life must suck if the best pleasure he can get is smashing a stranger's car.

Im into martial arts as well. I always tell people if you need to get out of serious fight (I live in a bad neighborhood)

Hit the idiot on the adams apple or throw an elbow to the liver(but this should be your last resort).

Even though I dont believe in Karma. I do believe that guy will get whats coming to him. Usually guys who try to break into cars (which happened to me/bad neighborhood) and steal things would do anything for money even if they landed in jail for it

Maybe the casino was mad you took all their money.

When I lived in Vegas, I was always one gamble away from the fastlane.
But I gave up (this was before I read Think and Grow Rich)

Next time I go back to visit, I will not stop until victory.

Sorry to hear someone messed with your ride MJ. I don't take out my expensive rides very much. When I do it's for car events or to go out to eat at a place with valet parking. I almost always drive my POS van. Bought it for 3k used from NYS DOT and I really really enjoy it. I imagine alot of people would be shocked that I enjoy my van as much as a ferrari. I really do though. I hit things with it, I take it offroad, I drive full speed thru huge puddles. It's so awful it just puts a smile on my face.

Like you say part of wealth is freedom. In alot of ways the exotic cars can be a real burden. Thats why when these young guys say they would drive their Lamborghini everywhere I just kinda chuckle. The constant attention gets real tiresome at times.

I wonder how people will think about an NSX.

People think they cost like 100,000$+

when they are really around 30,000

but they are pretty cool and I wuoldnt mind having it as a daily driver since its not expensive as a sports car

Sorry to hear MJ.. That sucks.

Minor speed bump in life.

Also, NSX is nothing like a lambo, everyone can see that car from a mile away. Nsx's not so much.

I drive an "exotic" everyday, I would never stop driving one because of what someone else thinks or does.

Wow, sorry to hear that happened on your trip :(

Silly question though, I presume you have another car than your lambo that you drive when you don't want the attention / just want a casual trip to the shops etc?

Ive had my back window broken out twice ( the most expensive to replace since the defrost ) and once on the drivers side of my brothers cavalier, just to steal the 10 buck cd player. I had to pay since the deductible. There will always be haters out there.

I had an NSX. It attracted attention, but nowhere near what the lambo gets. The attention was sporadic and I didn't get tired of it because it wasn't too bad. But because it was an NSX, I had many riceboys following and trying to race me. I also got the "what do you do for a living question" once in a while at the gas station. As a daily driver, it was a great car.

I like how people add side skirts and different wings on their nsx's.
Its almost like you can customize the car just for you.

And you can buy like 2 or 3 nsx's instead of buying a lambo. But I would rather prefer the lambo anyday hence the Gallardo is my favorite.

Mj, isnt their a lamborghini dealer nearby that can fix the issue?

I like the Gallardo as well. Sorry to hear about what happened to MJ's window. Some people are just haters. Rather than be happy for another person for having succeeded they commit senseless crimes against them. It's even worse in Europe where there's a stigma attached to being wealthy. There's an assumption there that an ordinary person can never be wealthy so there's a lot of hatred for wealthy people by the middle and lower classes in Europe. I remember reading a post on a lambo forum where a British guy talked about how much hatred he gets for driving his lambo around. Once when he stopped on the side of the road because of some problem with the car, everyone who drove by hurled insults at him.

Do you live in Europe? Because this is hardly what my experience there tells me.

Half of my family is from Slovakia, and the other half from Slovenia.

Slovenians (~2 million people) have one of the highest exotic car/population ratio in the world.

Took a one second search to back up my point and found a vid YouTube - Slovenian Cars

As for Britain, I have somewhere around 3-4 dozen friends in London (I practice freerunning) who absolutely love any and all British cars.. Aston Martins, Bentleys, Rolls Royce, you name it, they worship it. There ages are from 14-50 and most of them are slowlane.

So I don't agree with your statement at all. Luxembourg, Switzerland, Berlin, Paris, London, Monaco, Andorra, San Marino, San Tropez, Liechtenstein. All are countries and/or cities where luxury is abundant and cost of living extremely high. All are located in Europe.

Of course there are economically depressed areas (visited french ghettos, went to roma slums in nitra, went to Dublin (the whole place is a slum hahahah =P .) just as there would be anywhere else, but to say it is worse in Europe than North America isn't exactly true.

My point wasn't that all Europeans hate rich people but rather that culturally Europeans are more likely to than Americans are. It mainly comes from America being a country of immigrants, so we tend to view the wealthy people here as self-made, whereas Europeans actually have aristocratic families that have passed down wealth to their offspring for centuries. It's the difference between a self-made billionaire like Bill Gates or Warren Buffett and a family that's been wealthy for centuries like the British monarchy or similar royalty and the relatives of royal families in Europe.

Shortly after reading MJ's book and finally getting my dreams back again I fantasized a lot about sports cars, until I realized I could just rent one when I go on track days.
I mean, isn't a racetrack the only place you can truly enjoy an exotic car ? (aside from totally empty roads)

Here in southern california.

People race on the freeways with their cheap hondas and go speed on the carpool.
I dont know how many times these people almost crashed into another innocent car

(aside from totally empty roads)

Get up early Sunday morning and have a good time.

I've never in my life seen an exotic car at the track that wasn't a dedicated race car.
