I recently saw the interview that MJ did on Mixergy and at the end he talked about how he had to be in a good mood to drive his lambo because whenever he does, people bother him with questions and want to take pictures, etc.; pretty much all of the attention that he gets is not always a good thing.

I remembered seeing this video of Houston Texans' star Mario Williams driving his orange Murcielago convertible on youtube and how the two guys filming wouldn't have recognized who he was or even paid attention to him if he hadn't been driving a lambo.

So, while the attention can be good at times, I think it would get pretty annoying fairly quickly; to have everyone who is driving near you or people on the street staring and taking pictures, not to mention asking the same questions over and over again.

A friend of mine sold his Lambo because of the unwanted attention. He felt that he couldn't drive it without being harassed and he got tired of it. He bought an Aston Martin instead but he hates it because it stalls constantly and the dealer has no idea what is wrong.

You could just drive it in a high income area like beverly hills.
Here in the vid some people dont even look at the exotics because they are so used to it.

I went their once but some people do come just take pictures of how some people are and the cars of course.

Yes, there's certainly something about lamborghinis that make people's heads turn more than other exotic and luxury cars. Even Ferraris don't turn as many heads as lambos do. Partly it's because lambos are so recognizable; when people see one they know what it is whereas they have a hard time identifying other types of sports cars; they can guess that it's expensive but they can't tell what kind of car it is.

The Enzo isn't as recognizable as a Gallardo or Murcielago:

Regarding the negative attention that your friend received; what sort of harassment was it exactly? Was it something like this where people follow his car and move around it trying to take pictures when he's at intersections?

If I had a lambo I wouldn't want to be that limited in terms of where I could drive. Sure, I'd stay out of poor, crime ridden communities for safety reasons but other than that I would consider the rest of the city fair game. Parking is another issue of course.

People would chase him down and want to race all the time. Every time he stopped, people wanted to talk to him. He said he couldn't even stop at the gas station without having to answer a barrage of questions.

Even though I have a barely noticeable red Ferrari 430.

Not a day goes by someone isn't taking pics, walking around the car to take pics while I am at a restaurant or just out. People come up and ask questions all the time.

I don't really like the attention, sometimes.

But I love going through the gears up to 125... It quickly turns a down mood into a great mood.

Never had any problem, ever.. Well except for one mustang guy that would not leave me alone a long time ago. I get it, you put in a superchargers and bore out this or that, your mustang might be faster.. but listen.. Which one would you rather have?

So is this how it is a day in the life of driving an exotic?

Morninig: You wake up
wakeup.gif

You decide that you want to take this beauty out for a drive today
Lamborghini_Sports_Car_07.jpg

But first you go fill it up.
Person: Hey what do you do for a living?
You: Me.... I uh .... I own a business
Person: Oh cool, what business do you own?
You: I sell software
Person: Oh cool, how do you do it?
You: You learn about programming and etc.
Person: Oh cool can you show me how to program?
You: You really could just read a book on programming and all
Person: No but I want you to teach me, I dont want to read a book

Your done filling up gas
image002.gif

You drive down the street, people stare at your car.
At first, its normal you just drive away.

You go driving your own business....... You go on the freeway.. you speed and let loose.

You go to the gas station. Fill up again....
Person: Hey mister, what do you do for a living?
You: I own a business store. I sell office chairs
Person: Sweet, how do you start a business?
You: I uh saved some money and bought wholesale chair at discount and made a website that offfers my business.
Person: Oh cool. Yeah I want to do something like that but I just dont know where to start.
You; You can go look at the library for business books and etc. Or you can make a website and sell something different.
Person: Oh cool. but yeah making a website is hard.
You; Yeah, im done filling my tank

You go drive off. again. People stare at your car....
You get gas again even though you dont need to fill up that much in a real exotic

Person: Hey what do you do for a living?
You: Me.... I uh .... I own a business
Person: Oh cool, what business do you own?
You: I sell software
Person: Oh cool, do you need a college degree for it?
You: No just learned on my own
Person: Oh cool can you show me how to program?
You: Nope to busy, just read a book on programming. its long though
Person: Yeah I dont have time to read a book and plus im not as smart as you..

Your done filling up
You go drive down the streets and everything.
All of a sudden you hear someone reving their engine as you both slow down the street to a red light.....its......

You dont race, you dont put poeple in danger.
You go stop for gas again. Your grow angry and frustrated of the questions people ask you

Your at the gas station once more;
Person: Hey mister what do you do for a living?
You: I work at MCdonalds.

The end.

Personally, being the sometimes immature teenager that I am, I would absolutely love any and all attention that the car would get me. (Good, bad, all the same).

As I get older I imagine this will change. But for now and the near future this is the reason I want an exotic. If nothing else, it's motivating enough for me to attack my goals.

Just being honest.

When I am going to be driving my Lamborghini, I will treat others the same way exotic owners have treated me. Every time I received advice and encouragement. I will be even better and when they ask "How do I afford this car since I am so young?" I will answer with 2 words; "Read this" and provide them with MJ's book. :urock2:

Thats exactly what I was going to do. I was thinking of that.

Yesterday we went into a restaurant, came out in 10 minutes and someone smashed the passenger window on MJs lambo!!! There will always be haters. Kinda makes you not want to get on because of all the attention.

Are you serious?

Its peopl like that in this world that make the world a bad place.

Well I guess that person will go to hell soon anyways.

For smashing a car window? lol come on now.

Is the world really a bad place? I'd have to disagree. The world is an amazingly beautiful and wonderful place. Sure there are problems, but most of them can be fixed or improved upon.

You can't control what other people do to you, but you can control how you choose to react to it.

But why let them get to you?

MJ didn't let his Vegas trip get ruined just because some jerk broke his window.

Material possessions are just things (which you can replace)... experiences and memories last forever.

Mj went to Vegas? Lucky him. I been their like 7 times and its hot as heck

Ok so was the lambo in vegas or arizona when his window got broken?

This makes me wonder about Lambo owners here on Southen Cali.
Everytime I would post a thread {if a lambo owner ever had something happen to their car}
I would get bashed by everyone on the their forum

It was on the way to Vegas I believe. In arizona though.

From MJ 'The picture below is from Kingman AZ at some drive thru car wash on way to Vegas; while having a gas/food break, some a**hole took a hammer and shattered my window. Sorry pal, you won't ruin my weekend.'

Ryan I cant see the picture, maybe something messed up

Well I know that If I had a gps tracking system on any car, I wouldnt worry about it like if my life depended on finding the car.

Here, one of my friends sisters cars was stolen and I dont know what car she drove but maybe it depends of being at the wrong place at the wrong time and Mj just happened to be at the wrong time.

Maybe that a$$wipe, was having a bad day or was being sued and decided to take it out on something that he probably could not achieve in his lifetime

What is fastlane elitism?

^That's much better stated and I agree completely.

Fastlane elitism is the idea that people in the fastlane are 'better' than everyone in the slowlane.

Technically fastlaners are better at achieving goals and making money.

It doesn't apply to much else though.

That reminds me of that show on Vh1: Your cut off.

My ex made me watch it.
These girls are rich and spoiled and do think they are better than anyone else but they are living under their parents money.

I dont know if it was fake or not but it made me mad at those people......or actors.

Mario had someone shoot a video of him racing down a two lane interstate at some crazy speeds after coming back home for the NC State spring football game. I think NFL/Texans shut down the video quickly....But that is for sure him because it is the same Lambo that was in the other video, minus probably around 170mph lol

On a side note, Mario was not a very highly ranked recruit out of high school. He was blessed with the physical attributes of a freak but he also had to put in some major work to become the number one draft pick and has since improved in the NFL to show that him being drafted over Reggie Bush wasn't as dumb as many of experts thought at the time of the draft.

After this weekend, I'm tempted to sell the car and take a break from it.

For those who don't know, I myself and a few guys drove to Vegas from Phoenix for a long weekend.

At a pitstop and Kingman AZ, some asshat took a hammer and shattered my passenger side window. It had to be a hammer or some other object (like a baseball bat) because there was more glass on the driver seat than in the impact seat.

Here's a picture of us at drive thru car wash vacuuming up the mess.

vacuumlambo.jpg

Then on the way 5 hour drive home, I totally wasn't in the mood to drive and just wanted to chill/relax. It was impossible. People yelling, drivers pacing, camera's sticking out of car windows ...

Sometimes the attention is really cool/exciting, but believe me, it gets old ... especially if you like to keep to yourself.

What is it they say about success? To be successful you have to be willing to take risks? I am totally willing to risk driving my dream car someday. It's a very acceptable risk to me. :)

I would get tinted windows on any exotic car so that people cant see who it is and have the windows up and just enjoy the car for myself

Its funny how an imported vehicle that looks different can make people go crazy and sometimes act like a fool
