Sometimes as you work to get to the Fastlane you might wonder if you're really on the right track or not. This post is a "Jeff Foxy" one-liner approach to identify if you're a "Redneck" ahh hem (clears throat) "Slowlaner."
We all have some "Slowlaner" blood. This is not intended to poke fun at anyone but rather at the mindset created by our society.
You might just be a "Slowlaner" if: (or "Sidewalker)
... you've ever bought a "Get Rich Quick" book that didn't work.
... you've ever taken marketing notes from a professer who's never marketed.
... you've thought working for someone is secure.
... you love your job.
... freedom means your wife let you hang with the guys on Saturday.
... you can't wait for the new overdue vacation.
... you constantly stare at a clock.
... if you let fear control your actions.
... you've ever been excited about a 10% return.
... if you've invested large amounts of money into someone elses business and don't have your own.
... if you've ever thought this is too hard.
... if you've ever asked how long will it take to make $$$
... if you've ever said "Hey I thought of that!" (referring to some product or business)
... you happily work overtime for extra money.
... you think you're smarter than everyone else.
... when you fart you think it stinks. (ponder on that one; just don't inhale)
... you subscribe to make money magazines AND look for business ideas in the classified ads.
... you have a business that can run without you.
... you think newspapers are current.
... you've waited in line to get a deal.
... a piece of paper on your wall (by XYZ Univeristy) cost more than your net worth.
... you think the paper from XYZ University means you're smart.
... you look for short-cuts or fast wealth that requires little to no work.
... you think of customers as a headache.
... you think this world owes you something.
... you think karma will provide.
... you let family and friends talk you out of running a business.
... you subscribe to the Fastlane forum and don't take action. (ouch, Scott that hurt!)
Let's keep this thread rolling. You might be a "Slowlaner" if...
