Hello everyone, I am a 17 year old kid from New Mexico, born into a middle class family.
I am here here because I am interested in wealth, improving my understanding of it, and gaining it.
I don't know of anyone in my life whatsoever that is as wealthy as I hope to become, but have always been interested in becoming rich, how to get there. Thus, I joined the forum. I hope some day I gain knowledge that I can give to others, but for now, and probably for a while to come, I am the pupil.
I began with Rich Dad Poor Dad, as it was recommended almost ubiquitously by anyone who was wealthy that was asked to recommend a single book. Oddly enough, I find myself in a position similar to Robert, my father having 5 degrees, but living a life far from that of a wealthy individual. I don't want to follow in "poor dad's" footsteps. While I am not in much of a position to judge, I think the book had a lot of great knowledge, but it is definitely just the tip of the ice berg. I need to broaden my horizons and learn all I can to be as successful and happy as possible.
I finished high school in three years, and enroll in university in roughly two weeks, where I plan to accelerate my learning just the same. I am undecided about whether I want to major in nuclear engineering, or computer science. Either way, I have three years of low stress time to learn and explore life. I think this is the perfect opportunity to begin my life long education on the subject of money, particularly how to use it to my advantage and for my benefit, which I am positive can be accomplished.
