Just did my taxes this weekend and after looking at numbers, the sad truth appeared: I'm a slow laner. I knew it already but taxes remind you of the sad truth. I work like a maniac, I pay uncle sam, I don't save enough... I'll keep working my project to change the trajectory.

I know but one has to look at their reality too. The reality defines people, not just thoughts. I'm not into some kind of new age "if you believe it'll happen" stuff.

When all you have is a W-2, your tax saving options are limited.

You're also going to have a painful period where you start a business, and you're earning more than your W-2, but not enough to make the more aggressive tax-savings strategies worth the price and complexity.

Eventually you'll get over that hump, but just remember that someone pays for all of our government services (and it isn't middle- and lower-class America). Success does not necessarily mean a lower tax bill.
