Hello :)

I am an architect in Germany and have been working for two years since university. A few weeks ago, I admitted to myself that this job is not fitting ME anymore. 9 to 5, and sadly to say, dull tasks.. Besides, beginner architects in Germany earn literally nothing.

So.. realizing I wanted to change my professional situation, I took my first steps into the journey... I read the Millionaire Fastlane and my road and vision is CLEAR NOW :)

So hello to everyone. I am excited to be here!

Hey r6203!

I am thinking about starting an ecommerce in the field of dietary supplements and/or some ideas related to foods.
..Just to get started and see how this evolves and to start learning about business processes in general..
And from there some new ideas / directions might arise.

Hi,

You might want to consider reading UNSCRIPTED as well. It really expands on the ideas in TMF and a straightforward take on dietary supplements might violate the Commandment of Entry.
That said, UNSCRIPTED introduces concepts like a productocracy and dietary supplements is a huge market ... so you might be able to reach your goals with the right approach, branding and value attributes.

I am really interested in Architecture (mostly if there is disruptive potential by automating some of the common processes). It is a little difficult to process that somebody would move away from such a field towards something boring ;-)
... but I suppose that is just a hyperreality that I have been living in.

Cheers ... looking forward to reading about your progress.

There are architects who design a dull extension to the house and there are Architects like Sir Norman Foster who have made £tens of millions.

Surely there is something you can do within the field.

It is how you think that is different.

Thanks Andreas,

nice to meet a person from Germany :)

I am sure there is disruptive potential in architecture. I will put thoughts on that!

Architecture is a very intersting field.

But to me, the actual day-to-day work reality does not appeal to me anymore.. It is hardly as creative (in a job situation) as it could be..

To me discovering the field of entrepeneurship / ecommerce is so exciting! I am curious about all the processes. I feel I will learn so much..

and most importantly, I am looking for a means (after the process of building a business) to

  • have time to myself, be free, travel (more than 4 weeks a year)

  • truly working for myself (my own brand .. control..)

  • and from the time I will have for myself, I would regain my true spirit – and that might open up new ideas / processes
It doesn't mean that I couldn't „come back to architecture“ anymore. That can happen, but in a way that is not clear to me yet (this path could open up along the process, I think)

Thank you for the hint for the approach. I really should focus on it. The other day I researched on amazon the customer feedbacks on a relevant product, and got many hints out of it. This is basically improvement potential for a product for free.

Thank you for the hint for the UNSCRIPTED. I considered reading it, but now I will actually just get started on it! :)

I am curious, what is your status quo if you would like to share?

Greetings

Yes, fair enough. I hope you will not regret reading UNSCRIPTED. It should give you all the pointers needed to avoid the "I can get rich by wanting to get rich" trap.

I am curious, what are your directions / passions?
Thanks for asking. I don't want to dump too much information in this thread, so here is a link to my progress thread: EXECUTION - The CASE and CAPE Master Plan
... just in case you are interested in the long answer.

The short one: I am interested in Architecture because I wonder how much value "procedural content generation" could unlock in the industry. There is a TEDx Talk that explains its appeal and hints at the potential:

I want to create an authoring tool that allows people to automate the creation of sophisticated digital assets without programming.

Thank you for sharing.

From what I know, I think this has got definitely potential. Creating a tool that allows people to automate creation processes without programming. YES.

Wow. „This is where art meets science.“ ...I need a moment to process this.
