Hi guys,

I am starting a business where I install a product sold by another company.

Quick question, please: should I contact the company that produces the product and inform them about what I am doing and, especially, if I can use their product images on the website?

Thank you

To answer your question: yes.
Contacting the company could open up many opportunities:
  • Service leads directly from their sales.
  • Competitive pricing when buying units from them
  • Area exclusivity for the installation service you are selling - since anybody with a similar skill set could start an installation service like you in your area.

Just a quick question about Control: what happens if that company closes, or if they stop selling your their product ? Are you able to source the product elsewhere ?

Thank you for the answer, Jeff.

Regarding your question about CONTROL, I can use another product. I use theirs because I tried it and works really well.

If instead, I get some kind of deal with them and they go out of business, well, then I have to find another product.

ENTRY as well could be another problem, since anyone could do it. I will do some door knocking which usually people don't do and could give me a marketing edge.

It's frustrating. I contacted them and being recognized as a solicitor by the secretary. I have not been able to explain properly what I want to do. She just closed the communication twice (I called again).

Now contacting other people from Linkedin.

The fact is, I have been working on direct sales for 6 months now, between 2 and 4 hours 5\6 a week (have another job as well), and I am worst than before.

How can you improve in this area?
