I started my entrepreneurial journey a few years ago but only stated a real business about 6 months ago.
Ever since then It's been really hard keeping track of the "Work" I'm doing. I spend 8/9 hours every day doing "Work" but if I sit down at the end of the day and sum up the work, they only add up to about 2-4 hours.
How could that be?
To answer that, I need to define what work really is.
In my business, I have to learn, organize, think/clarify, plan and finally "Work."
Actually, doing something takes only a small portion of my workday.
As an example, when I first got into Facebook ads, I had to watch hours' worth of content on YouTube before making my ad account and ads.
Compared to the time I spent learning FB ads, I spent only about 10% of the time making the ads. Hell, I could even say that I spent 30% of the time looking at the ad stats and thinking about that and making decisions that cut my cost per lead from $1.8 to $0.38.
Was all that thinking and learning a waste of time? What a dumb question.
But yet, I come across hundreds of videos every day telling me to stop thinking and start executing. Well, experience is necessary. But you're F*cked if you jump at it with no foresight and knowledge.
Back to where I was. Work?
So, how do you define work? It's a bit of everything. Learning, organizing, thinking/clarifying, planning and doing. And It's okay to spend only a small portion of your time actually doing.
