How to achieve a certain goal? Spend every minute or run a marathon and take enough breaks?

Hi all,

What is in your opinion the best way to achieve a goal? Can you describe your process in detail?
I'm currently in the process of creating a SaaS business. When I work hard one day, I sit at the desk the other day and my brain can't think as fast as it usually can. I can't get anything done. That's why I'm questioning myself on how to achieve a certain goal the fastest. Would it maybe make more sense to reduce the workload a little, but work each day?
So regarding goals, doesn't matter if the goal is a fitness, nutrition, or business one, how do you approach it? Do you go all-in, or do you run a marathon and take enough breaks? How long are those?
I would really like to know what has worked best for you, so I can maybe copy some parts of the process.

I definitely go for a marathon. Meaning you have to take breaks, and find a dayly routine that could support working the rest of your life. Meaning you need time off. Have little breaks everywhere. Those can be slack time, but it is better to just do something else. Workout / training, learning, getting better at something. Something social must have its time every day (Lunch with employees, colleagues, other business people) Then back to work.

Edit: Oh, but a day off now and then is totally fine. Find your own pace, but have a plan and follow it. When you feel out of energy, stop your work and refill it by doing something else for a specific amount of time. Find out if its just this time, or if you see a pattern. Then adjust your plan (for the day or your general plan) as necessary.

I tend to work in bursts. So when I notice I want to work, I take advantage and really go go go.

And then I chill and rest for a bit and maintain/study(do what's easy/necessary).

The cycle repeats.

Though I do try and do at least 1 thing every day to move forward. Even if it's something that takes just 5 minutes. It all adds up.
