Hello guys, my name is Alice, I am 26 years old. I have been working on and started my software company about a year ago. I am very much a beginner. I have this question hope someone can help me out
I have been working really hard and things in the business are getting better very slowly. I have a degree in biomedical engineering and am pretty decent at software. I know I can be making quite a bit of money working a regular job( Also got a few offers every now and then). But, I really want to keep working on my own. It's been really tough at times, I generally work till I can't really work anymore. I do try to take breaks when possible which is not too often.
I mostly do automation and data related software for my clients. Most of the clients are the small or mid-size business.
My parents don't really understand what I am doing and want me to consider getting a job for a while now. They are scared that I am wasting time on something that will never work. I don't want to not consider their advice due to my respect for them. During the consideration, I am wondering, how do I know I am doing the right things... Am I walking down a dead-end road? Is the business growing fast enough? How fast should a small software consulting firm be growing to be considered reasonable?
To summarize, when and how can tell if this business just needs more time and effort OR the idea is completely wrong.
I understand these questions are different for every business and person. So, in doubt, how do you guys find the answers?
Thank you guys so much for reading. I really appreciate it!
