Hi guys,
maybe you can help me. I can't really decide at the moment. On one hand there is a company I want to do because it's what interests me the most in the long run, on the other hand I now have the opportunity to make money as a freelancer. A few details about the opportunities:
Freelancing:
I currently have the opportunity to provide real value to companies as a freelancer. I know what I need to do and basically how to go about it. I do need to acquire some skills to do this, but could basically get started tomorrow.
Company I want to do:
Long term, I want to build a brand and sell physical products. I don't have an idea for a product yet, but providing value to customers in this way is what really excites and interests me the most.
Until now, I haven't really dared to start a company with physical products because all the ideas I had would have needed a bigger investment and I didn't feel comfortable with it because it was a lot of money.
So I thought that as a freelancer I could build up the capital I needed. But then I always had motivation problems, because in the long run that's just an intermediate step anyway and I wonder if the time wouldn't be better invested if I start right away with finding a physical product with which I can provide value (and learn how to live with the risk of potentially losing money).
Basically I can see myself doing both things, but I see now, that I need to commit to one option or I won't make any progress. The problem is, that I can't really decide at the moment. Should I choose Freelancing, where the worst case is, that I invest time and learn some new skills, but don't make any money, or should I invest the time in the thing, that I want to do in the long run, even if it means, that I am maybe going to loose some money. (It's also a decision between low risk - freelancing - and higher risk - e-commerce. I'm still pretty risk averse, because I've never done this before. I guess that's something one also has to learn over time.)
I hope, that this post makes sense.
Thanks.
