anecdote: BMW vs. site

Dinner with a client yesterday. She tells a story of her brother and his business partner. Years ago they have started a website with tests/education in Turkey. Later sold it to a big publisher. The partner buys BMW with the money; my clients brother starts a news site.

3 years later, the former partner is now an employee.

Most people never succeed because they are emotional, short-term decision makers who make their choices based upon what feels good now, versus what shouldn't be done, or done later. As a result, the end up living a reactive life where life becomes a management exercise into mollifying their poor choices.
