"what the f!ck did you do?"
This was last Friday. I was about 12 min in a 30 min walk. One I take daily, after eating lunch.
As I was enjoying myself, I remembered an email I sent few hours earlier.
See. I have set myself four hours/ week to look for products to sell. And I have just found one cool product. It fills a need and is cool to use.
I reached out to the creator of the product to discuss private labelling. After few email exchanges, he asked to know more about myself and the vision I have.
That got me thrilled, pumped and excited.
And I replied with a passionate email. One that made me feel great about myself.
There was only one issue: it was all about me.
Me, me and me!
I completely failed the "so what" test.
And missed an opportunity to connect.
Luckily, I am still interacting with the guy. And we have a call in few days.
This serves as a reminder to always remember that it is not about me. It is about the person I am interacting with and how I can bring value - as they define it - to them.
Cheers!
