Tell me why my website sucks...

Greetings fellow Entrepreneurs. I set up a website for a potential product and it has been a miserable failure. Spent $1,000 on advertising this month and I got two people to sign up. :nonod: I was looking to gauge demand for this product before getting it developed. Please take a minute to check out the site and rip it to shreds. Tell me why it sucks and why it failed. I felt I researched the ingredients and pricing pretty well. :bgh: This project is going into the trash if I can't come up with any fresh ideas. Thank you for your time. Much success to you.

It's a male enhancement product.

I wouldn't say it sucks as much as I would say that product is really hard to sell period.

I'm not going to pretend I know anything about this area. What I do know, highly competitive niche and your copy is extra important (it's always important but you know what I mean), there are hundreds of other enhancement pills trying to get my attention every day on web.

Again, I'm not an sort of professional at writing copy (yet) but thought I would answer since I asked for the link.

Best of luck!

:smilielol: knee slapper

Skins, I was sold on it until a couple things...

Yes, those ingredients work.
Yes, it's a clean looking site.
Yes, it's properly priced.

No, the FAQ and Ingredients page do not look our sound professional. The main page is awesome and slams it home, I clicked the button at the bottom. When I was reading the FAQ, I became aware that I was not buying a product from a pharmaceutical genius based on hard (no pun intended), factual science, but a person attempting to make a quick buck off of "eastern medicine."
No, I did not see an actual bottle of the product! You said you were doing this for validation which is great, but I wasn't able to validate the product since I didn't see the container, but huge points for that picture of some pills.
No, I could not actually PURCHASE the product. Did you have google analytics on it? and if so how many people hit the page to purchase? I wonder how many people were WILLING to pull out their credit card at that point, only to see it was just phishing for contact information.
^^^
Since I think every person in this thread is missing the mark on why you didn't get results... I'm bolding and making my point bigger.

All in all... I think you did a great job, but I don't think those results necessarily say "it wasn't accepted." If you know how many people clicked on the page to buy the product, I would use that as a good indicator of market interest.

Goodluck! :)

First impression: cool name. landing page looks like a generic template. wall of text.

Also, you don't capture their email anywhere, just that shipping contact info.

I'd put up a sold out label, and offer them a coupon for when it becomes available as an incentive to capture their email.

Take a look at competitor landing pages, like viswiss.com (came up as an ad in google search). They've got a video, lots of visuals, etc.

In my opinion the message is not intense enough, not straight forward enough and homepage doesn't seem to follow the AIDA sequence (attention, interest, desire, action). The copy is also not compelling.

Maybe a landing page would do a better job than pointing people right to the website. First thing I see on screen is "buy now" option (why would I yet) and a FAQ option (ain't got any questions yet).

The proposal is unclear. "Better sex guaranteed". It might as well be a DVD with interesting techniques.

Maybe it would help to study how your competitors do it, and then model it.

Professional looking, but right away I didn't trust the above-the-fold points above the button because I've seen those all before, and it's unbelievable. My mind immediately went to "if someone has found a way to make erections longer, they'd be a billionaire and everyone would know about it." Perhaps copy that was more marginal, but believable, would be more effective. Something along the lines of "this pill isn't a miricle drug, but it did help me last longer every time I had sex" or "I've tried a lot of pills, most make outragious claims, but this is the only one that actually made a difference I could notice. Sure, it didn't give me an extra 3 inches, but after my wife told me that it was the best sex we've had since we first met, I knew it wasn't all in my head that these actually worked." Basically I'd repalce the points with a quote like the ones I've outlined, and split test it.

You need t split testing a lot of stuff.

first of all i suggest to change your spending plan. Selecting btteer your traffic source, trying to targeting better your costumer. If the landing page is maybe not perfect, if you a conversion lower then 1% it is realistic to assume that your traffic is too broad!
I don't know what are you using to bring traffic to you, but you have to find out how to select better your traffic. You will spend less and you will earn more.

Second
Start split testing your page. If you do not know how to do it, start with a simple program as optimizely it is very easy to use , you have 1 month free and it is pretty good. There are better program of course...but to start this one is perfect..one month free it's alot information and improvement.

Change the test wall, add images, use bold and bigger character on interesting keyword for the reader.

other artistic suggestion
try to put a sales counter where you can write something
Other 12398 satified people bought the product what are you waiting for?
or
146237 Woman thanks us and are happy...is yours too?

Put a lot of review
Put the bottle image
Active a paypal account..people love to pay with paypal.
Show that you use secure pament and accept paypal, visa etc... (http://goo.gl/FBXBzE)

The content is so boring, its just a photo and then a "content" blog post.... yawn, you need to attract people within the first scroll. Perhaps hire someone to create a professional website for you. I can't write much cause I am literally on the phone constantly send me a PM I work with web development and marketing, I can help you answer every and each question you have.

Lay out:

Use somewhat smaller font. I need to scroll a lot to see the whole message on a laptop screen.

Let alone smartphone screens.

Use other color buttons. Personally I hate red. Too much color contrast with the "natural" - green - origin of the product.

Content:

Trust is everything with this type of product.

- so use testimonials. Preferably video testimonials.

- throw in some science. XX works because it contains, doctor YY says, etc.

- money back guarantee.

Good luck!

Tell me why my website sucks...

I wouldn't say it sucks at all. Sucks would be a 1 of 10. This, IMO, is a 5. It just needs improving.

With this type of product, overcoming skepticism will be everything.

-- Better copy, and less of it.
-- Testimonials, an absolute must.
-- Maybe some links to clinical studies regarding some of the ingredients.

Also, this product would lend itself to some humorous marketing, think Enzyte, DollarShave, the PooPourri, etc.

1.) Google male enhancement
2.) See who is paying to be the number 1-3 spots on adwords
3.) Reverse engineer everything they are doing and then do it better.

Also, do you have separate landing pages for each of your keywords? You should have one for each keyword and direct the copy at that exact keyword.

Thanks a lot everyone! That's why I love this site. I appreciate everyone taking the time to check out my work. This is the first site I ever built and yes it is just a simple templet. I decided to take a stab at this because some of the competition in this business has the cheapest scammy looking websites with absolutely ridiculous names. Ball refill, ejaculoid, etc. Their ingredients are a bunch of tiny doses of 19 different herbs and somehow they get good reviews???! Maybe just good marketing on their part but I thought I could put together a better product with a better value based on using the few things that actually work in proper doses based on scientific studies. My amateur site looks better then a lot of the competition believe it or not.

No, I could not actually PURCHASE the product. Did you have google analytics on it? and if so how many people hit the page to purchase? I wonder how many people were WILLING to pull out their credit card at that point, only to see it was just phishing for contact information.

This was my concern... That perhaps I set up my sales "funnel" in a bad way. The BUY IT NOW button leads to a SHIPPING INFORMATION page where I collect Name, Address, Email. When you click SUBMIT you are taken to a page that says IM SORRY WE ARE CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK.

The potential buyers info is sent to my email. I can also check the sites traffic to see how many people landed on each page. Only TWO people submitted their information. I ran an add for a month but I did tweek the price and ingredients a few times. I started out with more ingredients and a higher price then simplified the product and dropped the price for the last two weeks.

I ran a google AD for one month. It said:

BETTER SEX GUARANTEED
Safe and Effective all natural
Male Enhancement supplement
www.AlphaDogStack.com

I figured that would get peoples attention and also tell them this is a supplement not a DVD, toy, etc. I wanted GOOD traffic. Again, I don't know shit about web marketing so feel free to school me if I messed up.

Good points and thank you for contributing Mr. DeMarco.

I have learned less is more when writing copy.

I don't have the product yet so I was concerned about not having a product picture! That's kind of strange not to show the bottle so I put up a picture of some capsules that contain some of the ingredients. Also, should I put up some fake testimonials? I know people do it but I felt strange about this. The product doesn't exist! Should I lay in bed with a hotty and film a video saying how much fun we just had?:groove:

I can put up studies but I thought that would bore people to death. Would that really make sales? You would be surprised how many people don't even read the FAQ.

I should not have opened this site on my work computer with so many people around me haha.

That could do it! I think if it had gone directly to the out of stock page and had asked for an email address to inform the customer when it's back in stock, it may have worked.

Regardless, I think you had solid execution for just validating the idea. If you got lots of traffic to that Shipping Information page, I would consider that enough validation to go forth, and you'll have some lessons on page layout / transitions for the live environment.

Let us know what you decide to do!

Goodluck! :D

I wouldn't say the site sucks but I would include testimonials, can you give away some of the product to your friends to try and have them review the product.

Can you say like they been using this formula for hundred years in Asia and now it's available to the world.

Where did you spend the $1,000 advertising on, google or porno sites?

But i'm not feeling the name, maybe it's just me.

Thanks for the rep and the advice.

This is the most important point of this project. Testing demand for the product.

Before I had no SHIPPING INFORMATION page and I was just considering if people clicked BUY IT NOW then that is considered a sale. I had 44 clicks in two weeks and I was already counting the money in my head!

Then I was told that's not enough to be considered a sale... I would have to make people submit their information to take things a step further. That's why I added the shipping info page. Obviously I'm not going to set up a billing page since I have no product to ship.

So the question I have is... IS this website set up properly to gauge demand for this product? I was happy about the number of clicks my buy it now page was getting but then I only had two people submit shipping information after I added that page. I'm wondering why people are taking time to click all the way to the end of a website if they're not interested. Is the shipping page out of place?

I'm not sure what I should do next with this. Scrap it? Tweek things and try again? I know it looks like shit to a lot of people but I did spend a great deal of time researching ingredients, getting quotes, learning about the industry, etc etc. I would hire a web pro if I was going to roll out with the actual product.

Who said that?? I can see requesting their email to inform them when more is in stock, but the rest of it before even going to the product or checkout page makes it flat out look like a phish attempt. If the person who gave you that advice is really adament about it, ask for 5 examples because I can't think of a single one haha.

As others have mentioned extensively, your landing page (particularly the copy) is pretty weak. I'm not particularly versed in this niche and these are just my humble opinions, but you can be pretty sure a blog post isn't going to cut it. Your lander, specifically the "above the fold" portion, should be solely aimed at grabbing attention. You need pictures of what men want (women, confidence, power - not pictures of genitals) and less text. You are correct in having easy access buy now buttons above the fold, too.

Below the fold, I'd go with images coupled with testimonials and objection-killers.

"Being single at my age was always a concern, but now, after using this product, I'm back out there with confidence and my dating life has never been more active." - Gary from Bonersville
"Too embarrassed to order? No problem, our product is delivered in a discrete package to ensure your privacy!"

Obviously my copy sucks too, but whatever. My opinion is go for more images, more hype on the landing page. More product/reassurance on the buy now page, even more reassurance/encouragement on the submission page. In fact, your submission page is arguably your most important page, yet it has absolutely zero copy/images on it. If they've made it to the submission page, you should be doing whatever you can do give them that extra nudge to fill out the form.

Even putting something as crappy as this in the right-side blank area of your submission form would probably raise submits:

The deeper they get into your purchasing funnel, the more you want to encourage them to follow through. Anyway, good advice for you in this thread already. Good luck.

Your website is nowhere up to scratch compared to the big players.

Here is an example of a competitors product:

http: //www. thedrillpills. com/ (remove spaces ect)

You would have been better off spending that 1000 dollars to outsource an eye catching landing page done and some good copy.

Typically these offers are free trial/rebill.

The anatomy to a male enhancement product:

- Bright landing pages
- pictures of happy couples
- ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS - Our product contains ingredients that have been mined from deep in the caves of Antarctica.
- The benefits eg. Longer, Stronger, Satisfying sex life; More confidence, ect
- How does it work? Scientific proof/reports that these ingredients work aka "Trust me, I'm a doctor/scientist"
- Testimonials from people that have tried it
- Money back/no risk guarantee
- Easy to order form without a lot steps
- Call to action after all the above shows that your product is a no brainer

To me it seems that evry site promoting some sex pills is black. Is theire verified reason for this?

Good suggestions thank you. I will make some changes to the site. It's great getting other opinions on this stuff. I'm locked up in my room alone working on this haha.

Still debating on hiring a pro and taking another crack at this. I hate to keep shoveling cash into a black hole.

How did you spend $1,000 on advertising, google?

Yes I was running a google adwords campaign. If there is a better way to go about this let me know. It's not cheap but it brings in the traffic.

If there is a cheaper, more effective option I'm all ears.

I would think porno sites would be a cheaper way to get traffic to your site but i'm not sure, I'm learning myself and looking for options myself. With $1,000 spent on google ads, how much traffic did you get?
