PR is in the news and not in a good way. With all due respect to those who are in a tight spot, it's axiomatic that fortunes are made during bad times. With that in mind, what is the opportunity to be found in the Puerto Rican debacle? Is now the time to buy real estate in hopes of long haul returns? (What are the prospects for non residents to buy land there?) Is there a service that this crisis begs for? Their utilities are notoriously bad. Decades of decay and corruption have left them with sporadic and at times rationed electricity and water; bringing them a better system would be a huge undertaking against strong opposition from entrenched obstacles, which is why who ever pulls something like that off will make billions.
There are big problems in a beautiful tropical land that is close to the CONUS and has the benefits of being a US territory. Big problems scream for big solutions. Lets talk about the problems and the solutions. I admit that I know little about what is happening there so this is (for me) largely an intellectual exercise. Where are the opportunities?
