Can anyone share the mindset shifts that happened as they started to truly enjoy the PROCESS?

I've been running into a bit of a limiting belief where I'm afraid to let go and be happy in the moment and enjoy the process because I feel like I'll lose drive.

(I feel like I'm starting to shift by realizing that the happier I am, the better work I can do, but I don't think I'm there yet)

I thought hearing some other people's mindset shifts might help me as well as other people in the same boat as me.

I think my biggest mindset shift was when I realized that I was my own biggest obstacle.

Master yourself. Master your fears, your bad habits, your insecurities.

Dude...that's the crazy thing about entrepreneurship. After you're done mentally masturbating over inspirational quotes and you finally start taking action, all of the insecurities and fears that you hide from will come to the surface. That's where the real warrior either comes through or retreats back into mental masturbation mode.

In business, you alone are responsible for your results. There's nothing to hide behind...you can't blame your boss, the economy, whatever. You are responsible and you are your own greatest obstacle.

Try to speed through the mental masturbation phase fast and get the ice cream asap. You'll like the person you become.

i think my biggest one is "chase value, not money."

i always felt pressured when i chase money. now i think about "how can i give value to other people?" and now i've started to simply enjoy the process. :)

Congratulations, seams like you are on the right track. Maybe this is a comfort zone issue.

Why don't you just let go and be happy? If it doesn't work out then you can always go back to your old ways.

I've been running into a bit of a limiting belief where I'm afraid to let go and be happy in the moment and enjoy the process because I feel like I'll lose drive.

Drive is kept up by fear. And often we think the only way to be happy is to stagnate, not care, and "just be happy". But when you FAKE that smile, it wears off, and hides the feeling of failure and stagnation. The fear, is part of what makes this moment authentic, and a true risk FOR YOU. And it is only when YOU risk that you have any chance at reward and customers at getting rewards from you.

Shakespeare said "To sleep, perchance to Dream; Aye, there's the rub, for in that sleep of death, what dreams may come" "The undiscovered Country, from whose bourn, No Traveler returns, Puzzles the will, And makes us rather bear those ills we have, Than fly to others that we know not of." "Thus Conscience does make Cowards of us all"
"And enterprises of great pitch and moment, With this regard their Currents turn awry,
And lose the name of Action"
"For who would bear the Whips and Scorns of time"

He speaks about that troubled state of mind where we feel like a coward because we feel afraid of change and even more afraid of scorn and time.

That's where the real warrior either comes through or retreats back into mental masturbation mode.

There's nothing to hide behind...you can't blame your boss, the economy, whatever. You are responsible and you are your own greatest obstacle.

The above is clearly the answer from the other side ^^

However, from my view, I think we tend to make this internal conflict grandiose because it is a pivot around which our staples of execution are formed. And how we execute our actions and what we understand as significant becomes who we are. We can be lowly or we can be great, after we are tested in that fear.

Do we despise our own challenge? Or do we grow to accept it, to look beyond it, and to see importance in another way of "seeing things".

There is a point where your understanding out reaches your fears, and when that happens you are glad you remained vigilant through the harder times, because you come to see how important it was to succeed.

You are afraid of diligence and time.
And fearing paying the bills FEELS terrible and like time is against you.
But this ends when you get positive feedback from people who are paying you.
Them paying you and encouraging you to do more, helps you feel like time and people are on your side. It is then you start developing an appreciation of your work.

Edit: Sorry about the shakespeare, what I meant by that was that "yes it feels grandiose", but ultimately you need to sober up, regain resolve, and not think that everything and everyone is against you.

Shakespeare is mental masturbation, and it describes YOUR needs, but once that is filled, you have to then risk, move forwards, and find positive results. Don't fear the whips of time, the mind is stronger.

for me it was "chase needs, take action, approach an idea from different angles, and stick to the process"

x100. So. True.

This is the real battle: taking consistent action while destroying the insecurities + limiting beliefs that come up along the way.

What have you found to be most effective in working through this stuff? I've found becoming emotionally aware really helps and translating emotions into beliefs and then thinking about them and dismantling them.

Taking consistent daily action is deeply rooted in your personal WHY. If your WHY isn't strong enough, it's easy to make up some excuse to waste another day.

If I told you that your entire family would be slaughtered if you didn't create a business within 1 year, would you take action daily? Or would you waste a day here and there, thinking about why you're scared, why something can't be done, etc? Nah, you'd just get out there and take action. Enough said.

Read your why in the morning, afternoon, and at night.

Becoming emotionally aware of myself was a big hurdle to tackle...it only came with time. At the end of each night, I reflect on how my day went and WRITE IT DOWN in my journal. This is what allows me to identify where emotions may have sabotaged me. If you don't write it down, you won't notice trends in how your emotions impact your productivity.

Bottom line, you must develop the "whatever it takes" mindset.

Whatever it takes. Whatever it takes. Whatever it takes. Just do it. Throw the excuses out the window. F*ck it. Just do it. It doesn't matter if you only slept 2 hours last night, just do it. It doesn't matter if you're hurting inside, just do it. The successful people just do it every single day, no matter how shitty they feel.

Develop the habits of success and you will have ice cream which we can eat together when we party in Candy Land.

I'm finally figuring out that the "why" is my purpose. If the "why" can be identified with something larger than myself, such as "[my] entire family would be slaughtered if didn't create a business within 1 year", It becomes so much easier to get things accomplished. When your "Why" is bigger than you, all self doubt is thrown on the window.
