18 y/o, recently started reading tmf and quite amused by it. All of it is quite hard to digest-shifting from the slow lane to the fastlane mindset, but I am working on it.

I have gone to business competitions, done a paid internship recently and sell my photos as stock images online (have made insignificant revenue) and I have some money invested in stocks and some saved up. Tbf currently my focus is on going to a good university and studying hard(as much as I hate it) and learning skills that prove valuable to me in the future ie sales, copywriting, marketing, web design and doing side hustles- freelancing, internships, volunteering. My lifes all over the place, but I have got one thing going for me and that's gym; I workout 5 days a week and seen good progress. Good some fine ideas aswell; opening an online fashion brand, an app etc.,

But being an 18y/o I have all the troubles of one aswell;naive, negative view towards the society(a bit) tad bit arrogant- however also a pussy alot of times(working on it)- to sum it up living in a bubble because of which I have failed socially alot and barely been able to make any friends and develop good relationships.

What would you do?

You are young and you got a head start. Props to you!

Well I would tell myself this advice If I were 18: Always get involved with some sort of community/immersion - It will help directly & indirectly and eventually influence for the journey whatever it is

Keep perspective. At 18, I wanted it all handed to me. I thought that maybe, if I pulled enough all nighters and told enough people about my ideas and aspirations, they would come true.

The reality is that it's a process, and the process is entirely about learning through concerted action. It takes time.

And don't compare your progress to others, because no matter where you're at, you're gonna find someone who is doing it better or faster than you and you're gonna end up feeling bad about yourself. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg were making billions in their 20s... and that shit doesn't matter.

I’ve done sales at very large and successful companies.

They don’t ever have complete certainty.

They just know how to act-assess-adjust faster and with less risk. Mainly their value skew comes from training their employees to give good customer service.

Both companies have a mentality of relentless prospecting even though they could sit on their laurels and coast off word of mouth.

All that matters is:
1. Relentless prospecting. Master one channel at a time and branch out to have multiple channels cranking at once.
2. Relentless follow up. Leave no loose ends. Keep your word.
3. Adjusting to feedback to eliminate customer frustration. Keep tweaking your pitch until your value skew is crystal clear and compelling.
4. Playing with the long term view.

Advice: Work for the successful and reverse engineer what they do and keep leveling your skill stack up.
