+1 more to the set of programmers on this forum, I am not really unique as far as my degree (CS) but my personality metrics are far more suited for artistic ventures than coding. Though, to be fair I consider coding an art form.
A little more about me:
* I graduate in 2 months - yay!
* I have 2 years experience at a very small tight knit software company
* I love that company I worked for, and will take the job offer they give me once I graduate while my own business is gaining traction
* I'm a first generation immigrant, my native language is not English though it is my most proficient language
* Both my parents are engineers - Electrical Engineer (father) and Software Engineer (mother)
* Both my parents are slaves to the script and my father is a die-hard fan of Dave Ramsey so I heard a lot of that dogma growing up (they won't listen to a word of contrary evidence)
* I was raised Christian and I take my faith seriously - one of my biggest motives for trying to get rich is so that I can be ridiculously generous
* I've always had way too many projects going on at once, so for me reading Unscripted wasn't so much a call to action to get off my butt as it was a call to focus on one darn thing at a time and be "monogamous" so that later I can actually have time and resources to work on multiple things
* And finally, after reading Unscripted and TMF I knew I had to put ALL my time in one place so I used some of the tools in TMF and concluded on one project to start. I thought of this particular project two days ago while reading and it is something like a ride-share system for life-changing information so people can improve their lives no matter where they are in life or who they are. I have decided on a development stack and have already begun development.
For those curious, it is Python and Django, and I am doing it with Test Driven Development (TDD). I picked this because 1) I needed experience with TDD since as much as I love my job, TDD is not something we do there and because 2) this stack, including TDD is the quickest time-to-market of all the possible options, with a bonus on security and reliability, which is super important since it will be dealing with a lot of sensitive information should users choose to provide it.
Also, sorry for the cheesy title. Made you click though!
