Hey everyone!
My name is Steve Wantz, I live in Syracuse, NY, I have 3 kids, and a beautiful wife. I have been a Salesforce.com professional for many years. Before that, I worked a dead end job as a technical support rep for a small software company based out of California. During my tenure there, I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, and I even had some help through Syracuse University and the incredible Disabled Combat Veteran Entrepreneurship program they offered. I learned from some world class entrepreneurs about what I needed to do in order to start a business. In fact, soon after the program, I was connected with many resources and even could have had my first "product" (which was really a service) sold, but then I stopped. I stopped because it all became too real and I realized that I truly had no idea what I was doing and it scared the HELL out of me! I gave up and continued to push through the job, and I have been climbing the corporate ladder ever since.
That was about 11 years ago.
Prior to the start Covid, I started getting that "entrepreneur itch" again. At the time, I was on my 3rd company as a Salesforce.com professional. (Look up Salesforce.com if you don't know what it is) My role is in very high demand. Companies either tend to hire people like myself to maintain their Salesforce.com implementation, and/or they contract bigger projects out to consulting companies. The field is a very lucrative, and it is not slowing down anytime soon. The reason this is in such high demand is because while Salesforce.com is clearly the best CRM tool that exists today, it is hard to maintain unless you have the right people who are talented enough and have a very specific set of skills and certifications proving they understand the platform and how to maintain it.
I decided to start my own company, Snap Cloud Solutions LLC. At some direction from someone in my network who owns their won Salesforce.com consulting company, I registered my LLC in Delaware (mainly to save on taxes because NYS is ridiculous). I sub-contracted a very small amount of work through his company and earned a little bit on the side. Pretty cool! Then COVID hit and with kids being homeschooled and work getting crazier, I just did not have the TIME to spend working on the side just for an extra $50 to $75 per hour. Sure, I could quit my job, then start doing it full time and earn a pretty decent income, but it just didn't seem like I was making the real "change" I wanted. I was still "working for money" instead of letting my "money work for me".
Recently, I discovered MJ's books....and man do I feel like I took the proverbial "red pill". Not only has my entire outlook changed on running my own business, but now I feel like I have unlocked a part of my brain that I was never using before! It's incredible. Mind you, I am only about 60% of the way through "Unscripted : The Great Rat Race Escape ", but I do not plan to stop there, and clearly I came here to meet others in the same boat, or maybe others who have broken free and become a true "Unscriptee". Either way, I am here to learn and I will not stop learning and shifting my 1/5/10 year "Planasy" so that I can truly become the level of "unscriptee" I was meant to be.
Here's a quick outline of what my goals look like for this month and even at 1 year:

- Brainstorm Product Ideas
- Research the product ideas
- Build a website (I already have a domain through google)
- Lose 5 lbs
- Start talking to people on the fastlane forum (here's my first post!)
- Start writing blog posts on my website about Salesforce
- Start sharing those posts on LinkedIn and building an audience
- LEARN and Keep Learning
- Make at least 1 sale
- Lose 30 lbs
- Have at least $5k in the bank saved
- Have at least 30 blog posts on my website
- Have a steady audience
- Grow my network by at least 50%
