Hello there. This is a very long, draining post.
I had a problem one day where basically I was craving for food but I didn't want to eat anything from the fridge because I just "didnt" feel like eating what we had.
At that time, I thought this is a huge opportunity (adrenaline boost). So, I made my MoodMenus site. You click a mood from the list, you get transferred to a page with a list of food items, snacks and drinks (+smoothies). I loved this site. The UI looks amazing.
But:
- It's not really solving much now that I think about it. The value is too small. Seems only for entertainment.
- I don't even have an audience to show this site too. People my age say they love it but it's not something they would use everyday. I myself don't use it which can really paint is as useless.
To be fair, I started it as a fun project. I thought of it as something as fun as a social platform. But I grew attached to it somehow. This is the only project I've been on for about a year (the longest ever honestly) and I even made an app for it but I couldn't publish it thanks to the new policy where I need 20 testers.
Right now, I'm stuck with my long-term vision. I wanted this to be a cool side hustle where I could get user leads and feel accomplished alongside my job. But now that I dont know where to go with it, I've become numb and just overwhelmed with its existence. My main objective was really just to help people decide what to eat. And this is a unique idea because the mood addition was quite niche and interesting. But I can see that it's literally below the CENT standard. It serves as a minimum to everything.
There are two ways I could go about this:
- Listen to everyone around me and just let it go. My creative ambition for this idea has withered because I was trying to figure out what projects give me fulfilment.
- Keep it and keep brainstorming on it. Add the features I thought would be interesting (food quiz, affordable food blogs, food making content on instagram)
I love the second option. But like I said, is this really a big need? My entrepreneur spirit wants to see this take off and give me some value in return, but is that even guaranteed?
Im posting here because I have no network of people into entrepreneurship around me. Im alone in this and my burnout rate is as high as it can get. Im alone in this and I feel drained.
