Best way to create customized playing cards?

I would like to create my own pack of customized cards (poker size) with my own images and text.
I find so many web site offering this online but none is able to provide decent pricing for low quantity (under 500 copies).

By decent pricing, I mean a price that would still enable me to generate profit once I have paid bot both this printing and packaging production cost together with handling and shipping the cards to my customer.

Has anyone experience about this? Any reference or case study to share?

I am sure there must be a company somewhere offering that service of printing / handling / shipping playing cards worldwide to YOUR customers.
