Are influencers essential ?

I am developing my own Android & iOS applications, it is growing quite a bit as well as my income, I would like it to progress faster so I am looking for solutions.
Have you already paid influencers? does it have a good return on investment on your projects ?
Or do you have other ideas where I can put money to accelerate my growth maybe ?

I can't tell you about any personal experience with paying people for their endorsement... but, I can tell you about how I have befriended people who are important within certain circles. Most of the time, I simply start by having a conversation with them. I ask nothing of them except a few minutes of their time. I ask questions and then listen to their opinions or their stories. I know that developing relationships takes time and attention. It's like growing a garden. If a friendship grows out of my efforts, that growth happens in its own good time. Rather than asking for favors, I wait for them to volunteer their help.

Most people who are important got to that level by helping the people around them. Also, it's lonely at the top. The person who you are trying to befriend is still just that -- a person with all the needs and fears of everyone else. Just being their friend who listens is many times enough.
