they didn't

this is not how the stock market works. by the time it's released it will already be priced in— it will be public knowledge already

For example, Tesla Motors has experienced a massive surge in their stock price lately. Is it because the released a great product? Partially, but that can't account for the entire rise. People are pricing the stock based on future expectations and Musk's record. This may not be 100% accurate, but it gives you an example of what he means.

Apple didn't listen to their users, or attempted to involve them in a major rebranding. They changed the identity of their iOs, and a lot of people connected personally to the old design. This move costs Apple users, and the stockmarket responded to that.

Steve Jobs died. It took people a while to realize the full impact of the loss of his vision. They are no longer leading the market because of it.

Not really— the price going up or down on a daily basis is a lot less because of the daily announcements then you think. Again, a lot of the things that happen today or tomorrow, were already priced in X months or years ago

Only speaking for myself, the best time to invest (bar none) is when the market "prices in" a total catastrophic collapse. Then virtually everything goes on sale. 2008 was the latest (but not last) example of this. So was 2002, 1987, 1974, etc.

Where did you get this information that AAPL lost 50% of its value in one week?

It should go up once iphone 6 is released correct

Why would it go up? Just cause?

AAPL's stock is mostly focused on their mobile sector, the iphone i think is almost 50% of its revenues. Are apple products losing their shine? Intense competition? Wall street says yes.

Your dealing with a lot of market forces here, earnings reports, analysts, some report in China, etc.

Often times a slight sell off is irrelevant to new apple software or a product, it could be an institution adjusting their risk and asset allocation given new information. As snowbank said a lot if this crap is already priced in based on available information.

What makes Apple special is that they never sold a product or software, they sell an image and identity. Apple's design has always been cutting edge and ahead of current design trends, but now they are suddenly following others. Their core-evangelists have always been trendsetters (designers and musicmakers), how tempted will they be to buy Apple now that it is just one of the many companies that is adopting the flat design trend? Their evangelists are not followers, and they won't adopt products or brands that are.

This is not a slight sell-off, this is the first time in more then a decade that Apple is going to compete with its competitors on the actual product instead of storytelling and brand. Not a battle that Apple has been very good at in the past.

Not that i Know apple, or would ever invest in it. But

Did you checked the annual report, and the Q1 report, and do you understand the financial aspect of the company relative to the company current market value?

Or do you considering buying into apple stock because they got amazing I-Stuff?
