**Note - I'm talking only about paid traffic affiliate marketers in this post**.
A massive number of affiliate marketers use their years of online marketing experience to launch their own business. They'll often post AMA threads mentioning the reason for their switch was a lack of control in the business model of affiliate marketing. One particular user on here mentioned he wish his years spent on affiliate marketing was better used by building his own business. But what if he needed those years to learn how to build his own business? Maybe his years of learning online marketing will have launched him years ahead of his competition. The ability to take any product or service at any given time and convince thousands of targeted leads to pull out their credit cards and pay for something seems like an invaluable skill.
What do you think? Is the time and money spent learning how to promote offers worth the trade off? Or would the time better be spent building a business and learning the online marketing skills along the way?
