Okay ... here's the premise:

Someone has been trashing you online.

Maybe it's someone you used to date ... an angry customer ... your competition ... an annoying blogger ... whatever.

In a word: Haters

And all the smack they are talking ... is starting to show up in search results when you Google your name.

F*ck.

In fact ... one of them bought your name ... as a stand-alone domain ... and is using the domain ... with your name ... to F*ck with you.

Now ... obviously ... you can try to crank out and promote pages and content to crowd that stuff out.

Okay ... working on that.

But a comment in another thread got me thinking about a whole different tactic.

Negative SEO ... parasites ... and shitty back links ... pointed at your enemy's site.

Now ... I am no SEO expert ... but I understand a few of you here are ... so I figured I'd throw this question out there ... and give this topic its own thread.

If you wanted to sabotage your enemy's sites ... and fight fire with fire ... how would you do it ...?

If some blogger or malicious douche bag was talking shit on you ... and you wanted to "send em some love" ... what would you recommend ...?

What's your payback strategy?

The main way people sabotage others is by buying unquality links for their competitors, for example you can buy 1000 links for $9, since these links are really low quality Google will see this as a attempt to manipulate the SERP, and will probably punish the linked website.

If a competitor does this to you the best thing you can do is disavow these links on on the Google Webmaster Tools https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/disavow-links-main?pli=1

Or sites tied to known spammers ...? Or sites based in Rwanda ...?

So here's a more concrete example:

Let's say my name is @theag

And I am the only person in the whole wide world ... named "TheAg"

And let's also assume ... theAg is dating a girl ... who just happens to be married ... and her pissed off husband ... who is a bona-fide jerk (don't feel sorry for him) ... buys TheAg.com

So now ... Google assumes the TheAg.com ... must be about TheAg ... which (technically) it is ... and moves it right to the top of Google.

Exact match.

And (of course) the ex uses the TheAg.com ... to annoy TheAg.

What would @theag do ...?

Oh ... and for the record ... TheAg ... bought the ex-husband's domain name in turn (TotalJerk.com) ... and is still deciding what to do with it.

Payback may well be a bitch.

But that doesn't do TheAg much good in the short term ... TheAg.com is still up on top of Google ... when you type in the TheAg and hit search.

I let the domain go a year ago ... wasn't using it ... I guess I thought " ... who the F*ck would want this alphabetical nightmare ... ?"

Well ... I guess I found out (the hard way).

I did briefly represent his wife in the ensuing divorce though. I enjoyed that.

And he walked in on a few late night dinner dates ... but hey ... it was her house too.

The judge was none too pleased about that ... and I got sanctioned over it.

I metaphorically told the court ... go F*ck yourself ... I've got rights ... and I'm exercising them.

Well ... long short ... the court didn't give two shits about my rights ... and sanctioned me anyway.

Oh well ... what can you do.

So ... public service announcement ... if you don't own (yourname).com ... buy it ... and keep it.

Ditto .net ... .org ... Your (hyphen) name ... oh trust you me ... I snatched up every variation of "me" after that.

And I'm creating WP blogs on each and every one of them.

I'll push it ... and the rest of the haters ... right down the page.

My thinking as far as "me".com goes ... being as I own "him".com ... my best bet is to fight fire with fire.

If I can annoy him ... with him.com ... I might be able to coerce a mutual exchange.
