In my opinion it's a must read. Many people claim it's just common sense though, and everybody should know about that stuff anyway.
However, when I look around I don't see a lot of poeple that have actually implemented those habits.

I read the book in german and I listen to the audio book when driving from time to time. I highly can recommend reading/listening to it. If you (honestly and always) use the first 3 habits alone it will make you at least 20% more effective right from the start.

I had to read it because it was on the "to read" list in my ex-engineering school. (THANK YOU SCHOOL!)

It was the first "self help" book I read and I loved it, it really started the whole take your life in your own hands thought for me.
It opened my eyes, if I may put it that way. Even opened a whole new world to me.

As a first book I think it's mandatory that you read it, it WILL make you understand things that happen to you and help create the man/women you want to become.

If you have read lots of books on this subject then it won't be mind blowing but still, it's well written and very fundamental.

I would definately say it's worth it.

This is the book that changed everything for me. I still maintain a mission statement that I update regularly, and 'Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood' is still one of the most profound and useful statements I have ever heard about interpersonal communication.
