Anyone further afield will probably fall into the category of possibly untrustworthy. So over Thanksgiving I was doing some Christmas shopping, and had something in particular I wanted to get my eight year old daughter. I knew what I wanted existed, as they existed when I was her age, but I assumed they had been innovated upon n the 27 years since.
Guess what? They haven't. If I got her what was available to actually purchase (and I've checked every big box manufactruer both online and off I can think of), she would give it one look and assume it was for her three year old sister simply based on design and color scheme. I first just can't believe nobody had thought of what I wanted, and then realized...I might be onto something. That said, my experience in this sort of thing is non-existent, and I find myself wishing I knew someone with the experience and knowledge to tell me either "You're onto something..." or "This likely won't go far, and here's why..."
At the same time, I don't want to just blab the idea to a stranger on the net, as I really believe the idea has some major potential, though I'm not sure about patentability (it's basically a visual overhaul of something that's been around for decades).
Any suggestions as to how to find someone reputable and trustworthy, who will give me the straight scoop without having interest in poaching my idea?
