I bought the domain and hosting through godaddy.com for Hybridvehicleforum.com

The domain name is great. The thing is I know very little about web design and would like someone to create a forum (phpbb etc.), pay per click advertising banner (or open to other ideas or ways of monetizing the site) and get it all set up. In return I will give you a percent of all profits created by the site. I would also like someone who will not only just do the quick online set up but who can help make this forum successful !!! In terms of promoting or even moderating it and making it show up on various search engines, creating traffic. I have been reading some strategies for getting it started we can discuss as well as I am open to ideas.

I have done research which says that forums with fewer categories are more successful as the first posting are less spread out. I am thinking a 1) What do you drive?....Open forum...Classifieds ads….What’s your MPG/improvements?.... etc. I am open to ideas. I can get classified ads to be posted from craigslist, etc. on here, good tactic to bring initial traffic.

If you wish to have a serious conversation about this you'd better explain what kind of value YOU bring to the table, other than a 9.99 domain name. Have you ever driven traffic to a website?

Not to piss in anyone's cereal but forums are off the shelf software, learning curve is fairly short, so all you will really need to do is promote it. Why give anyone equity for that?

Even a non technical person can install phpbb in 5 minutes if you have cpanel hosting and do a little bit of google search.

Setting up a forum takes an hour or even less time if you know how, I just personally could not figure it out as I do not work with code. So yes I see less than an hour of work coding partnered with two people promoting +fees as well worth it for the long term equity in the site for the right person.

To the people that shot me down i will keep my composer. But I will say negativity and hate is a disease and one day it will be your downfall.

I will not let your negativity affect me and this is my last post on this topic.

Can you please explain to us why you believe that your proposal is a good one. What are you going to do with the business that entitles you to 75% of the profits.

All you have brought to the table is a domain name.

If you see that my domain, thehybridvehicleforum.com as a threat to your idea, you are basically admitting that your own domain name has no value.

The reason everyone here is negative towards your post is that it is just ridiculous.

I tell it how it is too !!!

My strategy is not a bad strategy at all and has shown success for me, some of the most profitable concerts I have thrown I did by trading a small percent equity for over a thousand dollars worth of sound and lights equipment. Also 2 or 3 brains does a better job than one and this goes directly with promoting also.

I will just wait for my buddy who told me he would do it months ago to actually do it and I will promote it myself or just scrap the idea and focus on bigger things. Done.

Everyone is just trying to help man, although it may just sounds like bashing. Your first post sounds like an ad you would see underneath the "Computer Gigs" section on Craigslist, and not on a entrepreneurial forum. Remember, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

Several hurdles to overcome here.

First, Chicago, you never introduced yourself to the members of the forum. I think you stated it in one of your deleted posts, we know nothing of you. It helps to get help and advice if we know a little about you.

Second, as has been mentioned, your first post on this thread sounded like an advertisement. If you hang around the forum you will see that we get one of these posts just about every other day. It does come off as you wanting someone else to do all the work and you get your share, just for registering a domain name. If that is not true then the fault lies with you and your message. To be in sales you have to make sure the message is received correctly.

Third, you are taking this too personally. You are going to receive negative responses in business and you have to learn to turn a no into a yes.

Fourth, while we all can learn new lessons in life, you are getting pissed at some of the main guys that could help you overcome your hurdles. MJ developed this forum from a idea and a need. Bio is one of the best internet business people around. I, myself, just asked a simple question in the second post here and it was never answered.

If you believe you are going to be successful at this, rock on. I hope you become the next Chicago multi-miliionaire and come back here to brag about it.
