I'm inviting you all to participate in a conversation about the real-world, day-to-day operations of our businesses. Not high-level strategy or abstract theory, but the nuts and bolts that make our businesses tick.

This is a chance for us to share, learn, and possibly streamline our operations. In order to keep this organized, I've suggested a few categories we might explore. Feel free to add your own if you have something that doesn't fit into these:
  1. Your Business: Briefly introduce your business, its location, monthly revenue, or anything you're comfortable sharing.
  2. Operational Workflow: Describe a typical day in your business. What tasks and activities are performed and in what order?
  3. Tools of the Trade: What specific tools, software, or equipment are absolutely vital to your business operations? What made you choose them specifically?
  4. Customer Management: How do you handle customer inquiries, orders, or complaints? What tools or techniques ensure a smooth customer experience?
  5. Invoicing and Payments: What invoicing or payment tools do you use and why? How do you manage transactions, refunds, or financial disputes?
  6. Marketing and Sales: What platforms and tools do you use for your marketing efforts? Why did you choose them and how do you measure their effectiveness?
  7. Logistics: If your business involves physical goods, what's your process for inventory management, shipping, and returns?
  8. Employee-related Processes: If you have employees, what tools and processes do you use for hiring, onboarding, and managing staff? What about project management tools if any?
  9. Bookkeeping: How do you manage your day-to-day finances? What software or methods do you use to keep track of income and expenses?
  10. Technology Management: Any other favorite software, apps, or hardware?
  11. Challenges and Frustrations: Are there any persistent challenges or issues in your current processes or with your current tools? What are the most significant challenges your business faced in the past?
  12. Upcoming Changes: Do you have any significant changes planned for your business in the near future?
Please remember, the value in this thread lies in the details. The more specific and granular you can get, the better. Can't wait to learn from your shared experiences!

Thank you in advance for your time and for contributing

Here is an example post to help you get going:
I run a boutique digital marketing agency based in Austin, Texas. Our MRR varies but is usually around $20,000.

Operational Workflow: Our day starts with a quick team huddle where we review our tasks and priorities. We then work on our individual projects, with regular check-ins throughout the day.

Tools of the Trade: We heavily rely on SEMRush for SEO, Google Ads for PPC, and Adobe Creative Suite for design work. We chose these due to their extensive features and industry reputation.

Customer Management: We use Zoho CRM for customer management. It's cost-effective and offers great customization options for our needs.

Invoicing and Payments: We use QuickBooks for invoicing and financial management. It's widely accepted, and most of our clients are familiar with it.

Marketing and Advertising: Our marketing relies mainly on LinkedIn and word-of-mouth referrals. We use LinkedIn's analytics for measuring campaign effectiveness.

Employee-related Processes: We use Slack for internal communication, Asana for project management, and Zoom for client meetings. We also use Indeed for hiring new employees.

Bookkeeping: Again, QuickBooks is our go-to tool for bookkeeping. It's comprehensive and integrates well with our banking system.

Technology Management: Besides the tools already mentioned, we use Google Workspace for email and document management.

Upcoming Changes: We're planning to expand our services to include video marketing. We're currently researching the best tools and strategies for this.
