House Heating Pakistan / India

Hallo, can anybody from Pakistan ond/or India tell me,

1.whether house heating is necessary. Esp in what areas and what time of year.
2. how are the houses heated? Which technique is used?

Is there perhaps a homepage about this theme in english?

Most places in India are hot. So, we use air conditioners.Only in Hill Stations like Ooty and states like Kashmir house heating is necessary.

Pakistan!
Cities like Lahore, Islamabad Peshawar, Quetta and upper part of Pakistan like Gilgit and Skurdu become too cold to live from November onwards- in the northern parts of Pakistan there is huge snow fall and the people use wood to heat there houses- in the cities- Gas is used to warm the house! hope this helps
