We finally got our weightlifting workout tracker app up and running, and I would appreciate your feedback (well, it’s on Android at least – the iOS version is still going through validation with Apple and should be done in a couple of weeks). We only have a couple of premium features right now, but we’ve got other features in the works, and that’s part of the reason for this post – I need your help deciding what we need to improve, as well as what new features to add next. You can select up to two features in the poll. Besides answering the poll question, feel free to let me know what other changes you would like to see that would encourage you to use the app.

Here’s the link to download the app: Pantheon Fitness - Apps on Google Play

It’s totally free to download, and we’re giving every new subscriber the premium features for free for three weeks. We won’t even take any payment information until the free trial is up and you tell us you want to keep those features - one of the ways we’re skewing value.

For answer # 7 below, "RPE" is Rate of Perceived Exertion and basically means how hard did you work during that set, on a scale of one to ten.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Looks decent. You may want to carve out a niche since it's so competitive out there.
Yes, it is very competitive - there are a lot of different apps out there, but here are four ways we're skewing value.

As mentioned in the OP, we are offering premium features for free for three weeks, and won't even take any payment information until the free trial ends and the customer decides they want to keep those features. This ensures nobody will forget to cancel the free subscription before it runs out and they end up paying for something they do not want.

This hit my son a few years ago. He wanted to polish up his resume and signed up for a "free" trial, forgot he had it (he used it maybe two or three times total) and after three months his mom and I noticed these charges on his credit card. We were able to cancel the service, and tried to get a refund on the months he didn't use it, but they refused. That left a really bad taste in my mouth, and I vowed right then that I would never trick people into paying for things they don't want.

If someone gets to the end of the free trial and decide that they don't want the premium features, that means we need to do better in creating and developing features that people want. Along these same lines, any time we roll out a new feature, we're going to give it to everyone for free for three weeks, but again, only charge people who actually sign up for that feature.

The second thing is we're doing a la carte pricing. We have a couple of cool features right now, and a lot more in the pipeline. We think all of them are great, but realize that other people will think otherwise and won't get value out of all of them. We don't want people paying for things they won't use, and this pricing structure allows our customers to customize the app to what will give them the most value. In addition to that, we will offer discounts for multiple features - the more features you buy, the bigger your discount.

The third thing we will be doing is a monthly contest. It will be a random drawing, and every customer who logs at least one workout during the month is eligible. Not only that, but the more days you record a workout, the more entries you will accrue, giving you a better chance to win the prize.

The last thing is a referral program. We realize word of mouth advertising is very powerful. We want to reward our customers who tell their friends/family/gym buddies about the app. This will be more than a typical referral program in that we will pay out not only on people you refer personally, but on people your referrals refer, and going one better, the "level" below that. We're tentatively calling this the "3D Referral Program" for Three-Deep - getting paid on referrals three levels below you.
