Hi,
my name is Fedor, I live in Paris, France. I was born in Russia and we moved to France when I was 10. I have an engineering degree and am now working as a CIO for a french company. I mainly spend my working time advising the GM about business and digital strategy, while managing 8 developpers following the Scrum methodology.
MJ's books highly resonated with my deep "Whys" and I plan on starting my own business, I guess creating value through my IT experience and management skills or something completely unrelated.

I have made some cash-flow positive leveraged investments in real estate as well, and will continue doing so while I still am an emplyoee and can get loans easily.
I have tried the Aliexpress/Amazon/Shopify thing for a couple months and have made around 100$ in sales but got bored by the lack of value creation, and the slowness of this result.
As well, I have two young kids which doesn't leave much time for creating a side - business.
But these are all excuses.

I am here on this forum to gain insights form peers, to actually start to think of myself as an entrepreneur, and to take the leap.

Welcome! Former CTO here so I know where you're coming from. It's difficult when you're senior management because you can see all the riches the owners enjoy - you're so close. And it feels close to achieve too. I suppose actually it's a good motivator if you have the right mindset.

Are you planning on using the skills built up in your career towards CIO or are you thinking about doing something completely different?
