Abandoning Fastlane Temporarily for Career Change in Slowlane?

    MINDSET SLOWLANE
Ive been known to not have a filter. With the position you are in I feel like I have to speak to you as a family member which means I may come out a bit abrasive, brutal, and honest. With your rant, it feels like you have starred at the wall one too many times for long periods of time asking...

Thin line between Consignment and Investor?

Do you feel there is a thin line between these two terms? Someone who has put up the money to own an item to provide to you as inventory to sell in your store which you will get a % of the sales price vs someone who provides you with funds for purchasing inventory. The obvious difference here...

Which operating system do you and other entrepreneurs use? (computer and mobile)

I didn’t mention my gaming machine still using Windows 7 since I figured the gaming machine was irrelevant here, but man I still love Windows 7. It just works with unneeded fluff on it. Plus, I DONT have to upgrade it. I only use it for gaming, and the games work fine on it.

Anyone else had a shittty/mediocre experience when getting design or creative work done?

I tried using a design contest site once. I spoke to a rep on the phone, and I could barely understand her English. I’m not going to take my chances with a project with limited communication. I thought about a freelance site but never tried it. My wife found an artist on Etsy that does...

Which operating system do you and other entrepreneurs use? (computer and mobile)

I use Windows 10, OSX and iOS. Windows 10 heavy and hot HP workstation laptop with 16GB of ram and an 8 core CPU. It’s the work laptop connected to a docking station connected to dual monitors and other stuff. It gets as hot as the surface of the sun so I tend to use it only in the office...

Which operating system do you and other entrepreneurs use? (computer and mobile)

Except being a little hands-on can sometimes be a little time consuming and possibly frustrating. But I do give it a chance once in a while to see how it’s advanced. :smile2:

How do you store and backup data?

    HOT!
Im confused. Are you asking how I currently archive or how would I archive if I didnt have a budget limit because both are two totally different things. Currently: I have a file server I built myself that stores it all. Every month I backup the entire server to an external hard drive...

Ever fake it till you make it with your website?

Fair enough. Exactly why I like to ask questions. :smile2:

    Critique my company

    MARKETING
I actually prefer full width on a laptop/desktop. I find it rather annoying when a website doesnt take full advantage of my landscape monitor. The trick, though, is making sure the website is responsive so that it looks normal when viewed in portrait mode on a tablet or phone. I just tested...

Ever fake it till you make it with your website?

    MARKETING
Ever fake it till you make it with the number of products sold on your website? Say you are planning to sell about 4 or 5 products (until you expand), but you are only going to be able to start with 1 or 2. Personally, I feel the site only showing 1 or 2 products is going to look weak. But...

Has what you started off with gone in a completely different direction? Is that okay?

My family also had to adapt with our retail store. We started out selling a whole lot of overstock items, but we discovered the people in the area really didn’t know how to appreciate the quality of the our stock. We also had to shift the type of clothing we had. Just because it’s cheap...

    Are you ready to adapt?

Talk to your customers. People get tired of doing surveys, but talking to someone on a personal level can help them spill all their personal thoughts. Asking about what they think/do/see (and what they notice from family, friends, etc) and what they see others liking could help you in making a...

Leasing an office vs working from home

    MINDSET
Its not just the $450, what about the additional costs in transportation and time lost in commuting? If you do not see clients, then why not stay at home? Some even buy fancified sheds for their backyard like those shown in www.studio-shed.com to help separate job from work yet continue the...

I started a business and now I'm doubting it

    HOT!
There are a few ways you could look at this. As some have said, hire people. Problem is not everyone likes the back end management work. Some prefer not to be in management to be able to be right on the front lines. If you can be without doing any of this work yourself, then manage some...

    Are you ready to adapt?

Adapt most certainly! The only time I would not considering adapting is when you consider changing to something beyond simply adapting to the current norms. Changing to something better than what the current norms are. Evolve past adapting to the norms to the next bigger and better thing...

Paid Virtual Phone Service vs 2nd Cell Line

I simply googled iPhone dual sim, and that site came up. A few articles also came up stating how a future iPhone may support dual sims beneficial for business travelers. But I think I have decided what I am going to do. Im probably going to buy a refurbished iPhone 6 and add a cheaper 2GB...

Paid Virtual Phone Service vs 2nd Cell Line

Has any one had any bad experiences with a virtual phone service vs a 2nd cell line? Texting is a big consideration with people today not being able to speak at all times, and Im simply weighing the pros/cons of sticking all of my business calls and texts in the service's app vs having a fully...

    TD Bank Business Account Woes

Anyone else had odd issues with TD Bank? So I changed my company name with my TD account which completely broke my online access. I could long on to the account, but I couldnt see my balances. I called customer service (which is always a 10-20 min wait), and they told me I need to close my...
