Put ad to offer IT installation services (I have no experience)

    IDEA
This is based on a previous post I made Buying IT installation Business But I think it's better just to see if I can land 1 client even though I have no experience. I have been a software developer for the past 5 years however so that can translate in the software side of things rather than...

    Farmer's Eggs: marketplace and delivery??

    IDEA
That's interesting. I guess it would be quite viable to potentially get a bulk deal by dealing with the farms directly. At the farmer's market in Toronto, it's like 10 CAD for a dozen. In my mind, eggs are very portable (can put stacks and cases in a van) and desired by pretty much everyone...

    Farmer's Eggs: marketplace and delivery??

    IDEA
Personally, I get an upset stomach from grocery store eggs, even free range ones. What people recommend is getting them at the farmer's market which not only go down easy but taste great. I was thinking, not many people have time to go to the farmer's market or even know which supplier to...

Buying IT company: good or bad deal?

    SAAS / APPS
From what I can understand, he does a lot of end to end testing and monitoring, so that part would be at home. Again, I'd need to know more about the business, but if it's something I can start on my own, I will. The real step for me is to actually find a contract to do.

Buying IT company: good or bad deal?

    SAAS / APPS
Thanks for the insight. Just wondering, did you find contracts/clients from ads or existing connections? One thing the current owner appears to have is a sales team. Right now, if i can manage to find my first few customers, I think I can maybe try and do it myself rather than purchase the business.

Buying IT company: good or bad deal?

    SAAS / APPS
5.5 was due to large deal with master service agreement. I'm not exactly sure specifically what they are selling. I'd probably have to setup a meeting with them and show more intent on buying if they were to break down the numbers for me. They talk about security management and network...

Buying IT company: good or bad deal?

    SAAS / APPS
The owner says they are retiring and they only have one admin assitant with a salary of 40k/year. They claim you can work from home doing this and they are willing to provide 3 months training plus consultation after the purchase. With a profit+owner salary of 600K, their asking is 1 million...

Most successful entrepreneurial environment in the US? (should I move from Canada to US?)

    PEOPLE
I live in Canada, I find it way easier to even make small talk with strangers whenever I'm in the US. Does depend on the state though, some more than others. I was told that in terms of environment or culture, the Bay area is the best, followed by some others like Austin, NY, Chicago. Problem...

Tried meeting with a successful aquaitance, not sure right personality type for me

    PEOPLE
I guess i have a bigger question. I think I'll make another post about it. I live in Canada, but whenever I travel to the states, I usually get the sense that testing ideas and talking to strangers is a lot easier since people are more open to sharing ideas. In Canada, even to my own friend...

Tried meeting with a successful aquaitance, not sure right personality type for me

    PEOPLE
This aquitance has his own fund where he invests in tech companies. I did seek some guidance from him before about doing a SAAS, which he advised against since he said in a few years many SAAS can be made with AI. Not completely sure about that, but I do appreciate his input. Having said that...

Starting to make drinkable yogurt protein smoothies

    IDEA
Hey guys, just came back from my trip in Spain. One thing I found great was getting Protein Yogurt at the local grocery store or cafeterias, which had 25-30g of protein conveinetly packed in a relatively small bottle. As with lots of protein shakes I find at the convience store in Canada, I was...

Started a useless product to see if I can actually turn any sales

    IDEA
I've been inrigued with models that try and get sales first, before expanding on product development. Took inspiration from South Park, I want to see if I can actually get any engagement or even sales on my product that does nothing for you. ZenFund It's essentially a pdf that thanks the buyer...

Finding SAAS problems (not a quick google search): networking the key?

    SAAS / APPS
I'm trying to find B2B problems to find and build a SAAS solution. But they're not exactly a quick google search. I think other than being in the industry itself, it may be best to try and network and find problems certain businesses face. I'm considering trying to find convetions to see if I...

    Getting SAAS ideas for B2B?

    IDEA
Recently, I was advised against trying to build a SAAS direct to customer. Instead, they told me it was better to find a business problem and find the solution that way. Other than having direct industry experience, can anyone advise how to find these B2B problems to create a solution for? I'm...

Recommended platform to hire AWS cognito integrator/developer?

    SOURCING
Thanks a ton for the advice. Yeah, I try to do as much as myself before resorting to hiring someone. Can I ask, do you do B2B for your SAAS? I recenlty shutdown my last project (app for chemistry exam prep for students) as I didn't really seen a huge demand for paid subscribers. I was told that...

Whent to know to stop business idea and move on? What do "failures" look like?

    EXECUTION
It seems like a lot of successful entrepreneurs who failed describe their failures as something like "I made $100K, but the market dried up and my supplier ran out". For me (and I'm guessing many others) my failures are more about never getting it off the ground. For example, dropshipping (tried...

Recommended platform to hire AWS cognito integrator/developer?

    SOURCING
Hey, thanks for the resource! I'll check it out. for now, just vanilla js on my frontend. Thing is, I'm just used to SQL Server as I use it at my full time job, but I can change if need be. So far, there are no problems on AWS. If I decide to go to OpenSea to cut costs for future mvp's, maybe...

Recommended platform to hire AWS cognito integrator/developer?

    SOURCING
I mentioned in a previous post with my webapp that I made. For now, I'd like to test the need and if it's worth continuing by actually getting paid customers (i'm thinking like 5 bucks for each month for however many months they want). But, I need a login and token setup on my backend to give...

Ask Me Anything About SaaS ( I'm building my 7th )

    GOLD! HOT! SAAS / APPS
Hello. I was wondering if you would advise trying to get paying customers right away to test the demand for your product? Or is good feedback enough at the start?

AMA - I built a software company worth 8 figures

    GOLD! HOT! EXECUTION AMA
Interesting, thanks for replying. I guess I'm just worried about wasting too much time on one app (and going for a shotgun approach I guess). Not really concerned about the money at the beginning, it's more of an indicator that I should continue to work on it. Did you work on any apps prior to...
