Hello, I am a new member and I want to thank MR Demarco for writing such an amazing book. I got the book Saturday and just finished it after reading all night(two days). I am really FIRED UP RIGHT NOW and I am really gonna put everything to use. I had a plan recently to move to the country away from all the distractions but was iffy about making the decision. Now that I read the book I know is a must! Im gonna move and give it my absolute all!! Literally! Im gonna eat shit, read, sleep success. Breathing is gonna be the only thing more important than my business and I will treat this coming year like it its my last. I came to these forums and was shocked at what I saw

I agree, I read a lot of these threads and a lot of the posters here got it all wrong. Most make the mistake of trying to become ironworkers on an island of iron workers, and the rest are taking directionless action.

You guys have much to learn. Every one of us "successful" guys and gals started out in that mindset. I'm guessing it will take a while for you to be able to put the puzzle pieces together.

Good luck, and welcome.

You aren't going to get much help on your journey if you start off by insulting everyone.

This forum is an amazing place, filled with awesome people (for the most part lol). The information here could fill 1,000s of books. There are few places on the net where you can literally ask questions to millionaires...and they will more than likely answer you!

What I love is new posters coming here that think they know what it takes... yet have tried nothing, and think that success is guaranteed to them. (I was one of them, just like most people were)

Many people finish reading the book (or 4hww, RDPD, etc) get all fired up, post how they are going to achieve great success and how/when they'll have 'x' amount of dollars... they post for maybe a month, and then they disappear. Why? Because it's a hard road. If becoming 'successful' (financially) was super easy, most people would be.

It ain't all sunshine and rainbows my friend.

Good luck.

Well thank you for telling me! I appreciate that.

Not really. Some days I do get frustrated when I see the same people posting the same ideas and same generic questions.

In general, I'm quite impressed with many of the young people here. As I just wrote in another post, I didn't taste a morsel of success until I was 27. So many people here are SO FAR AHEAD OF THE GAME than I was. It was why I wrote the book because it was something I WISHED I HAD when I was 18, 19, or 20.

For example, I have watched RyanD "grow-up" and taste success. While some will argue he isn't partaking in "Fastlane" activities, he is learning some incredibly powerful skills and doing what most others wont: Engaging in a process. I have no doubt he will reach his $10,000 goal in a few short months ... a few short months! When I was 19, I couldn't muster a $100 bucks together, let alone $10K.

So again, for many, the process isn't about making money, but about growing in the process of action and failuire. I see many here doing that ... and of course, others are just action faking. That is human nature.

Welcome to the forum!

Young entrepreneurs should focus on independently earning a livable income before they focus on making 'millions'.

My first year or so at starting various business ventures was difficult because I was learning the process starting from ground zero. I read numerous rags to riches stories and took for granted the fact that there is a learning curve to success.

I agree that there is a lot of stuff here that I will probably never use, but I don't see these other people as any more misguided than I am. Heck, even lots of millionaires got there by luck alone and might not have great advice. Caveat lector.

In any event, the ultimate measure of your success is how you feel about yourself. No matter what happens - big success, small success or no success. It all boils down to how you feel about yourself. Go big or go home.

For instance, I have a friend who is constantly trying to get me to join his company. He asks me how much will I need to come work for him, and I say, "half a million." I won't do it for anything less. I will lose ownership of my ideas, be forced to share my code, and will have just another job. I already HAVE a job. As far as jobs go, I have a GREAT job. I would've killed for this job ten years ago. So I don't need another job. What I need is independence and to play the fastlane game to the fullest extent that I am able, for as long as I am able until I see results. I'll be the judge of my success. For every hour I put into my website and business, that is one step closer to my deepest desire - to be the financial master of my own fate and to have complete ownership over my ideas. No job, however sweet, will give me that.

I suspect it's the same for you. Best wishes on your journey.

*TIPS ON STAYING MOTIVATED? come on!

If it help people I am all for it. I am all for anything that helps people without negatively impacting others.

DUDE WANTING INVESTORS TO INVEST IN HIM? DIDN'T YOU READ THE DAMN BOOK? make investors come to you!! I'll be back to these forums in a year and i'll be more successful than all of you clowns and thats because all of you guys want to succeed................ BUT I NEED TO SUCCEED!

Sometimes using other peoples money is the fastest way to success. Everybody that buys real estate with a mortgage has an investor. There are plenty of people who make a fortune using investor money and knowing how to get it can be a very important skill. There are plenty of creative way to find investors that many do not know about and can gain value by learning. Not all businesses can be bootstrapped.

While some will argue he isn't partaking in "Fastlane" activities, he is learning some incredibly powerful skills and doing what most others wont

I know this is a forum about the fastlane but being self employed and a good investor can still lead to great wealth and happiness. My grandfather was self employed and worked until he was 84 and invested wisely. He had a great life and enjoyed what he did. There are very few corporate employees that would look forward to working until they are 84 and I don't think you could have paid him to quite.
