Lots of good info in the comments section too...as someone looking into developing a mobile app as one possible fastlane, there were some interesting points to consider. Thanks for the link!

Great article.

Beyond simply requiring a much larger customer base to squeeze out a decent income, I think that charging such a small amount for your product/service devalues it in the customer's mind.

If someone was willing to sell me something for $1 a month, would I perceive that product as top-quality? Probably not, unless its quality had been proven to me previously.

On the other hand, $5 or $10 is enough that it probably appears to be a more substantial product without jumping out of the realm of "impulse buy."

Just my thoughts.
