Please how do you know your E-book won’t be stolen by a ghostwriter? I don’t know dishonest ghostwriters. But I’ve never hired a ghostwriter for a big project. I hired article writers and had never problems with it. However, my friend says it’s a risk to hire a ghostwriter to write a whole book.

Has your friend ever hired a ghost writer to write a whole book?

I think the thing with ghostwriters is they would rather get a large 1 time payment rather than the hopes that the shitty knockoff of 50 Shades of Grey you commissioned them for takes off.

The ebook is our 50/50 project with him and it's why I care of my friend's view. I don't think he has faced with any outsources before. He just worrys about his part the project.

P.S. I'll leave the project if he doesn't change his mindset.

Why'd you go 50/50 on an outsourced e-book project?

As for the original question, ghostwriters ghost write because they want reliable money and they want it asap. Also writing something is not enough, someone has to market it. Ghostwriters won't bother with that, they make more money by doing another surely paid ghostwriting project.

If you think you came up with something so original and valuable that someone might "steal it" (protip: you didn't) write and market it yourself.

I'm gonna 50/50 with my friend, not with an outsource. Just my friend is afraid to hire a ghostwriter.
I understood that. But what can your friend provide to this project that you can not? I don't think this project will get you enough cash to share it with a partner.

How do you know a programmer won't steal your code?
How do you know a manufacturer won't steal your product?
How do you know a VC won't steal your idea?
How do you know your employee won't steal your customers?

You don't. You can mitigate risk but there's always risk.

Send over an NDA agreement and Intellectual property rights contract before you release funds to them for the ghostwriting services.

That's one step you could take. Doesn't prevent the possibility of it happening though.

You sound like my friend. lol How do we know the tomorrow day will come?

Yes, you're right. Any business has part of the risk.
I don't think the ebook will become the bestseller. It'd be better to care of sales.

I'm not being pessimistic, just stating facts. Shit can happen, you must get over that fact, or simply do everything yourself.

Better to understand and mitigate risk and then move forward.
