Is it is Wise for a beginner to start investing in VTSAX?

    INVESTING
I use Vanguard funds because of their really low fees... If you did take some of the IRA money out, you would be subject to an early withdrawal penalty. Again, really depends on your situation but if that 10% fee (or whatever the penalty is) is worth it (ex. you feel confident you can grow that...

Is it is Wise for a beginner to start investing in VTSAX?

    INVESTING
If you are in for the long haul Vanguard funds can be a very low cost, safe choice for some of your saved $.... really depends on what your situation and risk levels are. Instead of investing in that, can you use that money to grow your business or start a business that has much higher return...

"Good Luck Being a Saver" CNBC Clip

    MINDSET
Not my cup of tea, glad a network like CNBC is reiterating what you've been talking about for years. They are guilty of headlines like you just mentioned but if you listen closely important lessons can be heard...

"Good Luck Being a Saver" CNBC Clip

    MINDSET
As @MJ DeMarco mentions in his books, counting on the slow lane by saving for retirement for 40+ years is not a sound plan. I have CNBC on in the background as I work and had to save this quick clip of Lee Cooperman discussing the challenge retirees will have with these low interest rates ("How...

How We Landed $100,000 in Business From a Cold Email

    EXECUTION
We usually use things like "Hoping to Help" or "Hi NAME" or something with the USP like "We help SOLVE THIS PROBLEM" Definitely good to switch them up and if you really want to track things, take note of which gets better responses...

2 founders are not always better than 1

I've had a business partner/cofounder for almost 10 years. Definitely makes some things a bit tougher (paying 2 founders vs 1, differences of opinions, etc) but there are some benefits as well (2 minds, someone to bounce ideas off, additional experience/skills, etc). Interesting study though...

    Cold Calling vs Cold Emailing

    HOT! MARKETING
I feel the same, as I posted earlier in the thread this can and does work. We got a very large client last year that started with a cold email from my biz dev rep. That email lead to an initial call/demo, then our first deal, which then lead to 8 more large projects by year end. As @Jon L...

    General liability insurance?

Used an agent who shopped around... insurance costs suck but we need general liability insurance. There are also different variables/coverages that will raise/lower your costs so using an agent that understands and can explain all of that for you is helpful.

MorningRod - What do you think about my invention?

    HOT!
I agree, definitely looks like a cool idea that solves a need (not for my plantation shutters though). I would think about the brand/name further, morning rod --- morning wood association? I would go with something that describes it a bit more like Auto Curtain Rod or Smart Rod...

    Cold Calling vs Cold Emailing

    HOT! MARKETING
Both can and do work... we did close to 100k in business last year from 1 client that started with a cold email. Key is coming across professional and crafting an email that shows how you can help solve a problem or provide value... So to me, cold email/calling is not senseless and can lead to...
