The reason I don't like Think and Grow Rich...

    BOOKS
Clearly teasing :smile2: 100% with you on all of this! I like "next steps". I'll read personal development, business, and such even if it's not great just because it's kinda my job to know about these other people. But here's where I'd challenge you! "Never judge a book by it's cover"'...

Is customer service a good competitive advantage

    HOT!
Because none of the advice is specific. It's pointless advice. Theory, even. Look, I get you don't want to share your super secret idea... but 1.) It's not unique. 2.) There are assholes here who will steal it 3.) It doesn't matter because they probably can't execute on it anyways. So tell...

How about we ignore everything for a second... What's your business, what do you sell, and what are your goals?

Is customer service a good competitive advantage

    HOT!
You'll never find certainty being an entrepreneur. But to answer on a basic level, if they have a better product, service, price, offer, and half way decent customer service... and you have a worse product, service, offer but better customer service... you're going to lose.

Is customer service a good competitive advantage

    HOT!
You, my friend, based on all of your other posts are just way overthinking this :smile2: Go out, sell your stuff, and treat people well. Go the extra mile for them. Make them happy. You're just getting this thing going so don't say no to anything. Beg, borrow, and steal to get those first few...

The reason I don't like Think and Grow Rich...

    BOOKS
 It's dry. It's written almost 100 years ago. The language was different. How people communicate was massively different. There's a whole chapter on using sexual desire to achieve your goals. I've read that 50 some times and I *still* have no clue what he was trying to say. There's a...

The reason I don't like Think and Grow Rich...

    BOOKS
Oh wait... sorry that was Think and Grow Rich. Man I'm feeling like a total a**hole lately... Here's where I agree with you: The secret is bullshit. Kiyosaki is a dick. Napolean Hill WASN'T a successful guy. The entire premise of the book was that Andrew Carnegie HIRED him to interview...

The quickest way to feel important... and it needs to stop.

    RANT
I'm guessing you're far more humble about your skills than you're letting on ;) But the whole point is this: EVERYONE *needs* significance. That isn't going away anytime soon. How you achieve that significance is the key. Is it empowering or destructive? Our friend up above here (who is...

The F*ck are you talking about!? Just to clarify you think because a young entrepreneur is competitive is because he's brainwashed by politicians? This is the most nonsensical thing I've read in weeks. "No offense but I want to punch you in the face" So literally I create a post ranting...

I am only working 3 hours a day!

    MINDSET
It's not always about increasing the number of hours you work but the amount you accomplish in those hours. I've always thought it's better to be project oriented instead of hourly oriented. You'll fill those hours regardless of how many (or few) tasks you have to do.

 Outliers is one of my favorite book (but I guess with dozens of favorites that doesn't say much)! I clearly don't agree with a lot of Suze Orman's stuff -- and Dave Ramsey has some great stuff but it just doesn't apply to me and my goals... but I did read all their shit to see what I...

And who knows if the guy is nice or not? I don't know the guy personally. I don't buy bullshit that one person tells me about someone else. I investigate for myself. There is a gentleman who was essentially the catalyst for a lot of people flocking over to this forum. He treated some of my...

I've been ultra competitive since I was a kid, too. The whole fighting thing. ... but strangely there was a shift of when I stopped caring so much about me and started caring about WE. Funny enough if you got through biographies of Mother Theresa, Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., and dozens of...

The quickest way to feel important... and it needs to stop.

I've debated posting this thread but it's time for me to hop back on my soapbox for a minute and talk psychology again. One of our human needs is the need for significance. To feel important. Special, unique, different -- to stand out somehow. It's an important need. Not a want, not a desire...

    I Have Lost My Way

    MINDSET RANT
The average entrepreneur doesn't find the business that makes them successful until the age of 39. On another note, the average entrepreneur who has a successful tech business is 47 when they start.

    Business Operators VS. Business Owners

Richard Branson owns over 400 companies. He would never survive being an operator -- he MUST be an owner. Branson knows the value chain better than anyone. Elon Musk is the same. Definitely an owner. Now, of course, both of them seemingly take very active roles in their companies. The companies...

    Business Operators VS. Business Owners

Occasionally they send me in to turn around an organization. Everything from the Fortune 500s down to the local mom and pop. But when it comes to small and medium sized businesses I get a little frustrated because I'm often there to give them a "quick fix" to their current performance issues...
