    Capital in the 21st Century

This is my point. We disagree on the fundamental interpretation of the words we are using. If voluntary is implies freedom and spontaneity of choice or action without external compulsion, then "gun to head" theft and extortion are all examples of what capitalism is NOT.

    Capital in the 21st Century

    HOT!
After looking into this more, I'd venture to say the problem with any argument like this is the fundamental interpretation of capitalism. If we can reduce it down to its basic definition (I like @Kak 's) - a win-win voluntary value exchange, than it is the only economic system that does not...

You must not of watched it either. As a lover of capitalism and continued education, I found it to be a very interesting film. I thought like-minded people would appreciate it as well. I should've known that it would be shit on without being given a chance to be seen and discussed.

Your Thoughts on This Business Model?

    WEB/DIGITAL
Thank you for the feedback @MJ DeMarco and @Empires - you both are very right. I spoke to a few people in the industry and received a lot of valuable feedback. Due to the fragile nature of branding and perception that matters more in this industry (healthcare niche) than others, any call-center...

    Capital in the 21st Century

    HOT!
This is defintely worth watching. It starts out making a very bold claim: that the 21st century is going to resemble that of the 18th century aristocrats. Then it goes on to give a history lesson of capital and how it has adjusted over the years from a global perspective, ultimately providing...

Your Thoughts on This Business Model?

    WEB/DIGITAL
I'm spitballing here so any feedback will be appreciated. Let me know if you guys see any holes. I'm adjusting my business model. The question I asked myself is: what model is most valuable to the people paying? Do *they* (the people paying me) want the email or do they want the call? They...

Is It Unfair to Current Users to Adjust Your Business Model?

    MARKETING
You did pay-per-email-lead right? That's what I'm thinking about doing. Either that or like a call center where leads call me, I take down what they want, find the right option, say "please hold" and call the business with the lead still on the phone. Problem is... what happens when they...

Is It Unfair to Current Users to Adjust Your Business Model?

    MARKETING
@MJ DeMarco mentions in TMF that he sold ad space for limo companies and then changed his business model to pay per lead. I'm sure this happens to a lot of entrepreneurs still in the process of building their solution. My business model began with 2 options - free basic advertising and paid...

I think this limiting belief is exactly what the problem is.

    Capitalism vs. Ethics

    MINDSET
Believe me I have. So I created a review website. The problem is monetizing the reviews, hence the lead gen model. The difference here is dealing with cancer, unlike the other companies you mentioned.

It is paid to play, but their value proposition is the vetted certification. Oh wow. No I did not know that. Call me slow, and I appreciate what you say here, but I don't follow the relevance.

    Capitalism vs. Ethics

    MINDSET
Hypothetical scenario: You run a referral program for doctors that cure cancer. There's a coalition that exists to separate the "good" doctors from the "bad" doctors - but the fact of the matter is that there are a lot of great doctors not affiliated with this coalition. At the same time, your...
