Thanks MrStoic You prompted me to do some more digging. It turns out that last January we had a big one off order that really distorted the figures. Perhaps the number of orders is a better indicator than total revenue. It looks like I'll have 20 orders for this Jan vs 10 for 2019 & 16...

Hi lludwig, I read "Dont' Make Me Think Revisited" I've probably got to do some more work implementing it but I've kept the ideas in mind so far. I will definitely do some user testing. New site is here PA System Hire Sydney

OK so I've finally updated my website (PA System Hire Sydney) as recommended. Yes it's taken me 6 months. It was quite a bit of work to bring it up to speed. I had to: -Change hosts (old was too slow) -Change domains (.com to .com.au) -Learn Wordpress -Learn Visual Composer -Learn a bit...

Thanks Tourmaline. I think the "Sydney PA Hire" needs to be at the top as the H1 title for SEO purposes but I do agree it doesn't really add much. As for the pricing. With weddings we normally deliver & pickup only but with corporates or bands we do stay & operate & charge around $660 to...

Hi Tourmaline. I hear you but it looked like my site was losing rank from not being as mobile friendly as it could be so I changed over to Wordpress & went for a fully responsive site (bit of a learning curve for me). Anyway here's the homepage. https://www.sydneypahire.com/wp/

Hi lludwig. That's a good question. A lot of my work is based on a 25% commission & I can't seem to get paid traffic for less than about 10% & I can't run on 15% gross profit. If the website updates boost conversion then it may then be economic to send traffic via paid ads.

Hi Bekit. I finally managed to update my site based on your excellent advice. It's now fully responsive in Wordpress & also https. Let me know what you think. I've mainly worked on the design aspects. Next job is to work more on the sales copy. Here's the link to the new site...

You're quite right. To my great shame I haven't implemented this awesome advice yet. I have been working on an updated design. It's just taking ages to do. Re-reading this has spurred me on!

    Online Rental Store vs Manual

Hi Folks, My wife & I run a audio visual hire business. We have 2 locations & thinking about a 3rd. The last few months we've been going pretty well pulling in about 6k gross profit per month. I do some of the work myself but it's been dropping off as I outsource more. The problem that...

Thanks Razorcut. It's a fair enough question. I've been playing with paid search during the last year both AdWords & Facebook but I can't seem to get the numbers to work. For a lot of jobs I work on a 25% commission & a typical job is $400 so I've got a $100 gross profit. I can't seem get...

Hi people, I have a nagging suspicion that my website should be doing much better than it is but I don’t know how to find out: (1) How well it should be doing (2) What the problems are (if any) The result is that I don’t know what to work on. Here are some possible things: -Search term...

Hi Cyberdeth. Thanks for the intro. I'm also a fellow Aussie. I was in Sydney & still have a business there but did a tree change a couple of years ago out to Orange (about 4hrs drive). Anyway if you don't want to do software dev contracting that's cool but I would challenge your...
