People who talk A LOT about their business....

    FUNNY
Oh man, i have always loved talking about all the awesome ideas I've had that went on to be huge successes...for someone else! In HH's mind (old mindset) he's a quadrillionnaire that farts rainbows and fairies! That and $5 will get me a cup of foo-foo coffee at starbucks. To butcher a phrase...

I'm no longer running a business. My customers are running me.

    PEOPLE
Of utmost importance is do you see yourself doing this business long term? And if so, can you figure out a way to scale it so that you do not have to be responsible for the execution of every detail? Customer Service is extremely important. It doesn't mean you have to put up with rude clients...

What is the best "value" service you've utilized for your business?

This is a knock-off of the best value thread. What services do you find indispensable for your business? Either something you use in your business or that helps you work on your business. It can be a service like an accountant who understands entrepreneurial accounting or it could be a SaaS...

What is the BEST "value" you ever paid for?

    NOTABLE! HOT! CHAT EXECUTION
I got my Vitamix using points from a rewards program. It takes smoothies to a whole new level, I can put kale and spinach and puree it so it's smooth and has zero grit -- every bit as good as Tropical Smoothie Cafe. It has its own cookbook as you can make nutmilks, soups, etc. It also is...

What is the BEST "value" you ever paid for?

    NOTABLE! HOT! CHAT EXECUTION
Most books provide a great return if you can glean one nugget of wisdom that moves you forward. Even fiction -- the books by Patrick Rothfuss are a great example where I gleaned wisdom from the Ademre and Kvothe's dedication to learning their ways. Other items: 1. My MBA -- it cost me time...

If veganism doesn't work out, I can honestly say the ketogenic diet has done wonders for me. That's one of the things I did in 2017 -- kick sugar and carbs to the curb.

Do you guys feel sick in the stomach when you've to fork out money for product creation?

THIS! IMHO the scarcity mindset is a matter of perspective -- are you the same guy from a year ago that put in 40 hours/week at a job you don't enjoy to eek out a few extra thousand to try and fund your dreams? Or are you the guy a year from today who learned so much and now knows that money...

Question about inventory-based businesses and profits

I don't think you took into account that you earned your original $5k back. At that point you would have $10k to go buy 1000 products or bank the original $5k and play with the house's money and buy another 500...assuming this is hypothetical and you spend zero dollars on marketing, etc.

Ask Me Anything About App Business (100+ Apps, 10M+ Downloads, 1 Liquidity Event)

    AMA
Good content here BH -- thanks for taking the time to write this up. I am in the process of validating an idea for a business-to-consumer app and a few things I've been wrestling with are: 1) how important it is to settle on a go-to-market name at this point? Have you had clients generate some...

    IDEA
It's good to build things with a destination in mind, even if you sell your ride to someone else along the way! You don't necessarily have to monetize from the start, but you will look better prepared and potentially enlarge the buyer pool if you can provide realistic revenue projections from a...
