    What is your why?

Simen Sinek has a very popular TED talk, Start with Why. He later created a book, but most of what you're looking for is in the 18 minute TED talk. I really liked the TED talk and bought the book.

My Beliefs Are Holding Me Back

    MINDSET RANT
This was true for me when my first customers bought my product. I was so excited I couldn't get to sleep. Be careful, it can all change in an instant when someone returns it or leaves a negative comment. Very good points from Mike Stoian.

    Which syntaxical version is it?

    TAXES | REGS
If I have to choose, #2. I don't like "weren't". I would prefer "They were alive, but they were barely living"

    3D Printing Side Hustle

    SIDE HUSTLE
I've been using 3D printer since the late '80s. Back then we called them rapid prototype machines. Even though they've gotten smaller and more affordable, I don't find them to be a fastlane business. You asked "What are the best items to produce?" That's what you need to find out first...

    Classic car leasing business

For me a classic car is something you enjoy maintaining and caring for. That's half the experience. You drive it on nice days and on weekends. I don't think I'd have that kind of appreciation for a car that's not mine and never going to be mine. If it's to be daily driven, it doesn't have...

steady Ecommerce biz with unique product – learning to grow and would love to hear your thoughts!

    MARKETING
My wife and I do our videos too. I used iMovie for a while, but made the switch to Final Cut Pro. Best $300 I've spent. It can be shared through the family plan so we each have it on our computers. Saves so much time editing videos. Another benefit with higher end software is professionals...

To the person with multiple inventions

I don't have multiple inventions, but I set my business up like I will. I created a generic business like LateStart LLC and then made a DBA for Invention1. Invention1 is owned by LateStart LLC. Amazon shows my legal business as LateStart LLC and my brand as Invention1. I'll create additional...

    MARKETING
I invented a device I call UpScale. It Attaches to your bathroom scale and your wall allowing you to store and use your scale (TheUpScaleScale.com). It doesn't have a lot of repeat customer potential, but it does solve a very unique problem very well. I'm also a single product business. I...

How to market your business with integrity?

    MARKETING
I hated the sales and marketing part of the business until I read "Marketing Rebellion: The Most Human Company Wins", by Mark Schaefer. After reading it, I knew I had a new approach to marketing that I could get behind. From his website related to the book: "Technology has created new ways to...

Any ideas or suggestions on how to start a business working from home?

    IDEA
We sold our condo back in July and had the most amazing experience with our realtor. It was pretty much luck in how it happened so I'm not sure how she could use this to her advantage. It all was due to her connections. Connections we didn't even know she had (or that we needed) at the time...

Any ideas or suggestions on how to start a business working from home?

    IDEA
A book on a similar topic that I really like is Known, by Mark Schaefer. He claims people buy from people they know and trust. He also claims anyone can become Known in a field of their choice even if they have no previous experience. It's really a how to book that helps you find your path to...

    MARKETING
I have a similar story as yours, only I wish I didn't wait until I was 50 to start mine. I invented a product, designed, found manufactures to make the parts, assembled, bag parts, did the website, etc, etc, just like you. So congratulations on making it as far as you have. Not a lot of...

What book are you reading? Right now. Post up!

    NOTABLE! HOT! BOOKS CHAT
Finishing up another book by Mark Schaefer, Cumulative Advantage - How to Build Momentum for Your Ideas, Business, and Life Against All Odds. Found it useful and kind of gives additional information to his previous book, Known.

Looking for Manufacturers - From Small Scale to Wide Scale

It may benefit to upload models early to find areas you may need to fix before you get too far along. It's an automated system, you're not wasting someones time. I upload my models all the time as a design check. With Fictiv, someone from sales will send an email (pretty sure it's automated...

Looking for Manufacturers - From Small Scale to Wide Scale

Probably not too complex. The real problems are when the part has to have certain physical properties that the cast material isn't capable of. A cast plastic part might not have the strength or durability needed. Or the real parts need to be food safe plastic or dishwasher safe. If the part...

Looking for Manufacturers - From Small Scale to Wide Scale

There's other methods between getting it 3D printed and injection molds. Difficult to say without seeing how complex your parts are or what their function is. Urethane casting is a way to get parts similar to injection molded at a much cheaper price. Might be an option for small batches.

I love this idea. I have a difficult time calling and talking with sales people, but this changes the dynamics of the conversation.

First attempt to Youtube channel with book reviews

    EXECUTION
Congrats on starting the channel. The video was well thought out and contained a lot of good information. I'm curious who your intended customer is. I can see it working for people who don't want to read, but not sure how they get to your video. I imagine people who enjoy reading, also like...

New product. From idea to drawings to reality?

    IDEA
Very exciting time for you! I'll be watching to see how you market it. Not sure if it fits in with your other eCommerce businesses and will be part of that sales channel or something completely new. Keep up the good work!

How difficult could it be when dealing with Manufacturers.

    RANT
I'm trying to follow what you're doing. At first I thought you designed a product and were looking for manufacturer's to make the parts for you. That's something I've done I could probably give you some help. Your second post makes me think you might be looking to white label and existing...
