Once we took our son out of Daycare in November, he hasn't had to use the emergency inhaler. The pulmonologist did up his baseline inhaler though, but he hasn't needed it either. We think he just can't fight off colds the way other kids do because he's smaller and has the asthma. We're...

I haven't played with new labels much, besides adding a KETO sticker on it to help let customers know that our products are low carb. And I completely agree with glass. It's all we've ever used. The downside is that the shipping costs are higher due to the increased weight. Personally I...

I just got word that the talk about being a Plant Manager was more than talk and that I may be in the role as early as March. I've decided to reduce my asking price down to $21,000 to see if I can secure a quicker sale. I have also started conversations with distributors about liquidating my...

Doing a giveaway with Food is Good on Instagram. They're a new player in the space that allows people to find foods that match all of their dietary needs. I think they're going to be big for people with dietary restrictions and there's no cost to being on their platform. Working on getting...

Every certification costs money. It's just about whether or not you think the certification will get you more sales. To have my co-packer switch suppliers to one that uses Non-GMO certified eggs would be $6-8k. Then the Non-GMO project certification itself is a few thousand. Organic...

The ranch uses egg yolk, but the Italian is Vegan, I just didn't want to pay for the licensing. Both are also Non-GMO, but in order to certify the Ranch, they would need to know the feed of the chickens who provides the eggs, which wasn't worth the effort in switching suppliers for my co-packer.

We sold 2100 bottles to Grocery Outlet in the North East, but that was more of a one time sale to fund the reformulation of our Ranch. It's also my back up plan because I know I can off load all of the product and cash out if the sale of the business doesn't go through. We are also in talks...

    NOTABLE! HOT! EXECUTION
Hey man, been out of the loop for a few weeks and man you've been pumping out a lot of episodes! A couple of thoughts: 1. One of your points was that if we put a cap on the amount of money a person can make, it would make people less likely to strive for wealth and therefore contribute less...

    NOTABLE! HOT!
With all the questions about what deaths are or are not Covid, I feel like the best measure to gauge whether we have Coronavirus under control is the measure of how many deaths a place had this year versus previous years. For example New York had 14,000 more deaths in a 30 day period from mid...

How will Coronavirus affect the Real Estate Market

    HOT! REAL ESTATE
It looks like higher end real estate around Vegas are dropping prices if they're still on the market, but the lower end stuff is selling well. We've seen some $500k houses drop $30k in the last 3-4 months while the $100-200k places are getting multiple offers. Same around here in Oxnard, CA...

Those numbers were ones that the author said he got after doing bench marking across different businesses. They were general rule-of-thumb numbers. For something more specific to your industry he recommends the following to get a profit %: Some rule of thumbs for a rainy day fund: And...

I recommend checking out a book called Profit First. I read it in preparation for getting my head around running my own business and one of the things that the author talks about is Target Allocation Percentages. He pretty much summarizes the entire book in a free PDF on his website. The...
