In my industry, industrial automation, we are seeing higher prices due to rare earth metals coming from China. That's where most of rare earth metals come from to be used in electric motors. It is not the only place but has been used due to cost. My company automates factories and most of our...

Didn't want to send you a noninformative message without an actual plan of action. I travel to Atlanta occasionally for work so plan to be in touch next time I am in town. Unfortunately, Nashville to Atlanta is not a quick drive just for lunch (4.5hrs one way) but I hope we can arrange a meeting...

I actually already do that with smaller items, under $1k that I can get a good profit on. It is niche car parts to a vintage BMW. I used to go to junkyards, pull the part for $12 and sell it for $100 plus. I haven't done that lately because the cars don't show up as often so I can't pull them...

(Didn't want to quote the entire post) That is a fantastic reply and I really appreciate the input because I agree with everything you said. I have ideas that I should move forward with but I am putting them on the back burner for a bit because I need to focus on ONE thing that I have been...

Equifax is paying you $125 if you were affected by the 2017 breach

    OFF-TOPIC
Yup, that is exactly what I read last weekend especially after AOC tweeted for everyone to get their free cash.

Thank you, everyone, for your input in this. I am looking into Ally or other High-Interest banks and parking it there. I like the idea of having it in a liquid in case there is an opportunity that comes up.

Entry sales job or why I hate engineering

Bummer but I wonder how much did the "work visa" came into their decision of letting you go with lack of your enthusiasm. It is an investment on their part as well so I think you become more vulnerable.

I really like this idea. Never thought of going this route. This brings up a second question that is partially related to my first question. I currently have my emergency fund at a local bank earning 0.01% (aka, losing money). Do any of you keep your emergency fund at these banks...

When you send the connection request and they do not accept for few or months, do you ever withdraw the request or leave as is? I feel like when I reach out to a lot of my prospects they do no accept my request even with a message (I am not doing the video yet).

Never Split The Difference, by Chris Voss

    HOT!
I've listened to this multiple times and loved it every time. Lots of good information. Just like with any book, if you don't practice the methods than it was just a story. I use his methods when selling/buying things on Craiglist and Facebook Marketplace with great results.

Books for becoming a better storyteller?

This is pretty expensive if you look at the Great Courses site but it is also available on Audible for a LOT less. Not sure how many credits because I paused my membership.

    OFF-TOPIC
From what I read, you will get years of free credit monitoring but if you already have that then you will get $125 instead. I heard that with so many affected that the payout will not be $125 but more like cents. I have fraud insurance and monthly monitoring but I ended up freezing all of my...

Interesting Observation Last few days in the German News

Personally, I feel like that is always the case. I also don't watch the news. Last year I was visiting my family in Poland, watching the local and international news that I noticed something similar. The news provided to them did not match the news that I saw in USA when I returned.

    Interior home painting business

    SIDE HUSTLE
Yes, it is quite labor-intensive and time-consuming especially since I'd be doing it myself on weekends. It would not be my side hustle/extra income. I am looking at this more of a learning experience of having a business, think of training on the job, just to get some momentum going. If this...
