The HyperDoor: Automatic Sliding Door Opener

I have a provisional patent at the moment and would like to license. Have not found anyone yet though, but as others have said, looking into accessibility companies is probably where I should be looking

The HyperDoor: Automatic Sliding Door Opener

Everyone I know has said they would never pay $400, but again, I have not talked to blinds installers which is what I will do. You are right, I do not know the market well enough at the moment and did not think to talk to the installers themselves

The HyperDoor: Automatic Sliding Door Opener

Many here might have seen my other post about the MorningRod Well, I've also created the HyperDoor which is an automatic sliding door opener that easily attaches to any sliding door. I made it as a way of easily letting my dogs in and out of the home. HOWEVER, I think both...

I agree with all your points. I own one of those $200 Philips lights as well but never use it anymore. The reason for the hobby market is for 2 reasons. I've gone through hundreds of Kickstarter and Indiegogo hardware campaigns. About 90 percent of them either do not deliver or deliver an...

So I posted this on Reddit and some Facebook groups and got hundreds of replies and about 4k like/upvotes. Many of the replies wanted to buy it, so I think there's a market However, it was too expensive in its current design so I've redesigned it to only use 1 motor (based on many suggestions...

I found a few great companies that this would fit with and will try to license it. Got this book and it's been great to far. Despite the title, it contains a ton of info on licensing. He also has a different but similar book on it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XCRT77J/?tag=tff-amazonparser-20...

Fusion 360 to create the mockup. It's powerful and free for small users. But it's actually a rendering of the actual files used to 3D print everything

I'm going to focus on building a solid email list of interested buyers and testing things out with different landing pages, then launching a Kickstarter if things look good. The name of the product is easy to change and I'll test out some alternatives as well

Regarding the price, this blinds conversion kit seems to be selling ok for $249, so my initial $199 doesn't seem so crazy https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KSM8QY3/?tag=tff-amazonparser-20

And it currently costs $105 to make. This is buying parts in really small amounts. It could be about $50 or less if mass-produced. But getting there is a whole different game

Where do you suggest I begin? I do know I'm lacking is some business knowledge but don't have a mentor anyone I can really turn to learn more. Any suggestions?

Haha, I don't know if the name is worth keeping. Seem to be very divisive here. What are your thoughts? I'm not an engineer, but learn quick. It took about 1.5 years to really learn everything about designing an IoT device. But it's been fun and it's great to have a project in mind when trying...

That's the problem, it gets attention when I mention it, so from a marketing standpoint it stands out from the crowd. 50% people tell me to change it, 50% tell me to keep it. Idk...

Those have been around for a long time. The problem is they require special types of curtains which are very expensive (sometimes hundreds of dollars just for the curtain). Most people already own the exact curtains that mine requires. My style is also much different and looks like a normal...

Just tested it on the slowest setting possible and it can open the window as slow as 18 minutes while being near-silent. I'll start using that setting each morning as see how it feels. Great suggestion!
