Ask Me Anything About SaaS ( I'm building my 7th )

    GOLD! HOT! SAAS / APPS
I’d be trying riskier business ideas, with higher risk/reward. Mostly SaaS businesses.

Ask Me Anything About SaaS ( I'm building my 7th )

    GOLD! HOT! SAAS / APPS
That is yet another great thread. I think instinctively we do some of that, but it’s good to be intentional about it. Over the past day I went through the other thread and started to do the work. It’ll take some time though because greed clouds true desires a bit. However, with that said, it’s...

Ask Me Anything About SaaS ( I'm building my 7th )

    GOLD! HOT! SAAS / APPS
I do have a question. First, thanks for keeping up this amazing thread. I have been on the SaaS journey for a few years and an mid-late 30s. I have two successes and one exit. After the exit, I am more tired and in doubt than usual. I have had some high ticket job offers and I’ve turned them...

Post Exit - What to do?

    MINDSET
I start or buy companies, grow them and often sell them. 1/4th of the time I succeed. In this case, I’ve succeeded and I’m exhausted and the tank is empty. I am a software developer so I can focus on higher multiple businesses.

Post Exit - What to do?

    MINDSET
I want to start or acquire something and sell it for 10 times this amount on the next market upswing in 4-5 years. What thing do I want to do? Still not 100% certain.

Post Exit - What to do?

    MINDSET
Tomorrow I’ll be signing away my company as it is the final day of the acquisition process. The sale is not life changing, but it makes it so I don’t “have” to work again and can live comfortably off interest. This is not my first acquisition but it’s the largest. I have an earn out period...

    Unsexy Choose Your Own Adventure

    EXECUTION
We cull well, and close well. 50-100 cold calls per day type people. We tend to sit at a desk too often and aren't handy though.

We kind of tried that for 30 days. Perhaps we should continue. We chose a manufacturing niche and found that it was difficult dealing with unions.

    Unsexy Choose Your Own Adventure

    EXECUTION
Inspired by the Unsexy Businesses thread that I've read through a few times. I have a team and am wondering if anyone here has an idea they would like to see play out. I have no shortage of ideas, but I thought this would be cool content. I've read too many WallStreetBets YOLO threads over the...

Technical advisor in optics - small story

    SIDE HUSTLE
I co-own an optics company dabbling in certain tech that you'd be interested in...and I concur. It's such a niche that you should consider billing more. Think of the value they received. They likely would have paid $1,000/hr if it was structured as a project. Since we're in such similar...

Hello from a 15 years old guy :D

    INTRO
Levin, I’m on your side. I had a similar path. I ended with three years of University, but I did leave school for awhile at 16. What did I learn? High school was unimportant and University was only good to prove to myself that I could do it. I could have left after a year with the same...

At what age did you start to get your shit together?

I will never be good enough. There’s always more.

The Poor Man I Cant get a job: Flipping Stuff Log

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE
Holy crap... you’re such a complainer. You’re clearly not going to get handed your perfect job in your secretive niche. Get a minimum wage job then and stop with the “poor man” garbage. You’re also not going to get handed free shit to resell. Homeowners are smarter than that. You’ve got to...

Two app ideas, how to put into motion?

    IDEA
Prototype your ideas as quickly as possible. Weeks or even days, not months. You can do it if you set your mind to it; this is corny but true. As for the Fastenal idea, my company happens to work with them at the corporate IT/Operations level. So I would be interested. Send over an NDA and the...

I accidentally stumbled upon a great business idea

    IDEA
The simplest way to do this would be with Wordpress available at Wordpress.org Steps: 1. Get some server space (free for a year on AWS or Google Cloud). 2. Install Wordpress on your server. 3. Install Plugins for payment processing/user management that have been pre-made for Wordpress...

What are some indicators that you are ready to quit your 9-5 job?

    MINDSET
I was on pace for $170,000 in 2017 - 9-5 Career I made negative $40,000 in 2018 while building value for customers for free - Fastlane If this seems logical to you, then you’re ready to quit.

2019: Becoming Unemployable (Local Lead Gen)

    EXECUTION
You had me until you listed the 50 different tools you’d be using. My opinion, the only tools you’ll need for the next year: Lined Paper Pen Excel I want to see you do well. The best advice I can give you is “don’t waste time creating processes before you make money.” I’ve made this mistake...

Have I killed my business? (Trademark Infringement)

It’s time for you to play a game of poker. This other group would appear to have some cash to burn. They are showing their hand and telling you that they have cash because protecting their IP will not be free. This is your chance to respond with evidence that you have been around longer and...

I am only working 3 hours a day!

    MINDSET
I was earning $170,00 per year before going fastlane. In my career, I managed teams of 10-20 knowledge workers at a time. Constructively, I tracked their work time like you did your own. Their work time was approximately 2 and 2/3 hours per day. I found it interesting that the most...
