100 Unsexy Business Ideas: Name as many as you can!

    GOLD! IDEA
Storage of any kind! I am about to exit my car storage business for $$$ One that I explored and didn't go after...very little required capital would be Jeep hardtop storage. 50 to 75 a month plus a fee to take it off and put back on. In my area jeeps are everywhere. But any storage is...

30 Day Trials? ...for a SaaS

    SAAS / APPS
So I have a SaaS company (MCi Methods). I have been going back and forth about the value of 30 day free trials. I know that a lot of SaaS companies offer the 30 day free trials. I feel that for us it may not be the best thing. Our software is configurable and can be tailored to meet an auto...

My SaaS is rolling (slowly)...now, how to accelerate?

    SAAS / APPS
Hi whyphilip, Sorry for the delayed response...clients called, had to take care of them! I don't think it's against the rules...so...here's the story of my SaaS: We are a bootstrap SaaS that provides Shop Management Tools to independent auto service providers. It's a company called MCi...

    AWS Partner

    PEOPLE
We run a pretty basic system. Probably too basic. Two micro size windows VMs via EC2 with MS SQL. We are transitioning from one machine to the other, about 75% onto the new machine. Performance will become an issue as we grow and we'll need to scale. Honestly, I don't really know what's...

    AWS Partner

    PEOPLE
I would be willing to pay for that too. I would think this would be a good opportunity for someone. I have used resource of Upwork in the past with good results, pretty inexpesive.

    Quick Question (Buying customer lists)

Try the website Upwork and contract with a resource to source you the data you need. They are often located oversees and have access to large quantities of data and can provide emails too. You can negotiate with them on a price per hundred or thousands of leads.

My SaaS is rolling (slowly)...now, how to accelerate?

    SAAS / APPS
You make a great point. Perhaps I am expecting too much from my Sales & Marketing channels :) I am just seeing a drop in leads coming in from the PPC, probably due to Covid. I think part of my problem, not coming from a Sales & Marketing background, coming to terms with the amount of work to...

My SaaS is rolling (slowly)...now, how to accelerate?

I haven't used it yet. Was poking around. It's $30 to $60 per month. Will let you know when I try it.

My SaaS is rolling (slowly)...now, how to accelerate?

    SAAS / APPS
First 3 were business partners (I have another business in the automotive space). The remaining 12 were from PPC, Capterra, for warm leads followed up by live demos with prospects. We tried using email campaigns to get leads with no success. The PPC is the most successful to this point and...

I agree. My issue, or hesitation, is where to start in finding the right partner. I guess this is the place. Thanks for the user recommendations, i have reach out.

My SaaS is rolling (slowly)...now, how to accelerate?

    SAAS / APPS
Hi everyone! I have been live with my SaaS for about 1 year, basically getting stabilized and getting bugs worked out. I am in the automotive industry, fun stuff! I have another business that’s doing well (exotic/collector car storage…more of a side hustle), but software is my trade…cars are...

    How to Find a Mentor?

    MINDSET
Yeah, but doesn't the cat need to be aware of what you've got? Growth doesn't happen in a vacuum just because the product's great...see quite a few great ideas die that way. My 2 cents :)

MacBook Air or Dell XPS 13 Laptop for programming?

    HOT! OFF-TOPIC
Look into Virtual Desktops from AWS or Azure. I have a SaaS company and we are moving in that direction. Look at Azure if you are thinking of using the Microsoft tools (.net, C#, C++ {btw...don't do anything in C++ unless you a sadist}, MS SQL) Also, your laptop is the least of you worries...

The process of choosing the right name

Agree with this 100%! I have a dash in my URL...and it's too long. Pain in the A$$.

The process of choosing the right name

Don't get wrapped up about this. I always look back over my life and what I've enjoyed and can relate back to me...and there's a close domain name available. For example. I needed a name for my collector car storage facility. We'll something Motor Sports works. I like skiing and rock...

What do you think is the most important skill?

    MINDSET
I agree. Communication - the ability to get your point across. Part of that is leadership, sales, and motivation. I would think second would be creativity, the ability to see outside the box, see opportunities and make your own path.

    Investing in exotic cars

Your welcome. This is what this place is here for. As for insuring 100+ cars, simple, I don't. The own is responsible to keep their insurance in place or sign a waiver. We do take security very seriously, multiple layers (won't get into that...sorry). VINwiki is decent. I've know Ed for...

    Investing in exotic cars

I got into car storage as a pivot to my original business plan. I originally opened a 'car club' where members would buy points to be used in driving exotic cars. Lowest buy in was $5k a year, most members did about $15k. I had a decent fleet for 2009 (Ferrari F430, Porsche Turbo, Aston...

    Investing in exotic cars

I have thought about and dabble a bit. I currently own a 2005 Ford GT and a 1970 Ford E100 Club Wagon. Two very different vehicles, but, both with good potential. Right now I own a car storage facility in Atlanta...best job ever! Great cash flow and few problems. I just get to drive other...
